This is what the ANC is for. Largely complete silence
Oh I see, so you can use the ANC functionality without actually listening to any music? Don't know why but that never occurred to me before. Good tip, I might have to invest in some ANC headphones then.

Got a set of JBLs they work really well with my laptop. Nice part is I work from home so I can go to the toilet and listen to the boss complaining. Normally the boss keeps the mic muted so that she can speak but hardly ever allow us to give feedback. So it is is safe to take a nice dump while she screams at us. It is like heavy metal vocals without the music.

Exactly ... wierd idea at first but mind blowing when you experience it

I listen to in-wall/roof speakers (Sonos system in house and home office) mostly.

In my other office, I use the below, which I really like - I’m not a fan of something in my ear or over my head.

When in the office I have AirPods Pro in most of the time with Noise Cancelling active but no music playing.

I’m an active listener so need to dedicate myself to music otherwise it just doesn’t work.

I spend a lot of time in calls, so for that I use a microphone and speakers, but I'll often put on a pair of headphones when I need to focus.
Currently I'm using a pair of Sennheiser HD-600 powered by an RME ADI-2 DAC and a WiiM Mini as source for Tidal and Spotify Connect which feeds the DAC via optical.

Excuse the dust.
