DoC Colloquium

LOL.

Maybe you should just print out the relevant forums and hand them out.

I'd say email the link, but it's take too much bandwidth :p

EDIT: RPM, what connection are you running on? Doing some wireless lab *ahem*testing ;)

Hi guys

This concludes the most important part of today’s proceedings. Lunch next, after which there will be discussions surrounding these issues. For more in-depth information about the presentations please see the front page for Cara’s articles. We will also publish a few audio files on the podcast page soon.

Regards,

RPM

What Internet connection u using RPM ? 3G ?

Very interesting statement with regards to measuring..... Could this mean that ICASA will have teeth to go with those shiny gums of theirs ?

Thats a fantastic idea. ICASA should use the resources that MyADSL provides to police the telecoms industry better.

Hi folks

I have just offered MyADSL's support and assistance to the Broadband Task Force that forms part of this colloquium. It was greeted positively and I am confident that they will realize the value in feedback from broadband consumers.

Regards,

RPM

This is fantastic news! Thank you RPM! :D

Hi folks

There is currently a Q&A and feedback session, and it is clear that Vodacom is here in full force to defend their high mobile pricing. Strange that they do not really punt their competitiveness in the data arena...maybe the strategist is not too clued up :D

An employee from Eriksson also raised the important issue of using the ISM band for telecoms provisioning. I hope the Gov took note.

Regard,

RPM

And what exactly will a Task Force achieve ?

SAIX pricing cannot be regulated, therefore Telkom can do what it wants with regards to the access of digital information. Not much can be done without the proper regulations Im afraid, or can the individuals of this "Task Force" move outside South African telecoms laws ?

@ rpm You the Man!!!

@ all Anyone else getting that nasty feeling in yer tummy when u jus know its going to go pear shaped... again...

Telkom, Telkom, Telkom

I hope Telkom is their finding out what they are causing. What I cant understand, if my company got all this criticism that Telkom gets, I would do something about it drastically. They seem to thrive on it.

RPM, did you ever manage to speak to the new CEO of Telkom? If you havent, please ask him to spend 5 minutes on this site. Im sure their are quite a few people here that would like to comment on his company.

Wasn't it Motorola? Same diffs I guess... :D

New Telkom CEO SNUBS colloquim

Conspicously absent is the new CEO and top management CABAL of Telkom. Is it not career limiting in a parastatal not to honour a Ministerial speech in your sector as a CEO ?????:D

New Telkom CEO SNUBS Pricing Colloquim

The new CEO, did not bother to show a face at the colloquim. Is it not a career-limiting move to snub a Ministerial event if you head a parastatal body ?? At least it would have been telecoms 101 for him. The top management just sent junior clerks. I think, scared of the media, because of the bad media they have been receiving perhaps !!!!!!

 New Telkom CEO = Donnerse Bang GAT

What does he think???? Is he too important to go to something like that????

Oh ya! Forgot Telkom is effectivly more powerfull than the DoC, and the Gov is just too scared to do anything about them. stupid me.

We should have Roy as the DOC Minister.

RPM, if you become a member of the forum, clear deliverables and timetables need to be a given.

See http://www.mybroadband.co.za/nephp/?m=show&id=924

I have heard this all before and have my doubts that we will see SOME of this

LLU, VANS Self Provisioning, No Capping and access to Undersea cable will certainly go a long way, but there again, the old bullsh*t may still apply.
