Working systems don't quite offer the same kind of gaps for trough feeding.

What you're talking about is what's already happened in the US. Big companies buy out all the doctors, open their own chains and then set their own prices which are a LOT higher than what they used to be before.

But they do. They make Trillions. Hence the reason government is closing them down. If they are not a profitable company, they would have no problem giving this sector to government.

Yes, agreed, but the ANC will never rest while this money is in the private sector and they have no control over it. Like the pension funds. Like private properties. Like private banks. People should realize that the ANC is coming for it all. They are taking them on one at a time and killing them off. The old communist way. There is no stopping them.

Even if we copied a working system like Norway it would never work here because there are too few tax payers to fund the system in South Africa.

Norway's unemployment rate has averaged 4% between 1989 and 2023.
85% of Norway's healthcare system is funded by direct personal income taxes on a progressive income scale.

We have around 1 million personal income tax payers who contribute 75% of all PIT.
How would those 1 million tax payers be taxed in order to fund a semi decent healthcare system for 60 million people? Even if you took 100% of their salaries it would still not be enough.

That won't even be enough to buy Panados for clinics. As you said, it's about legalising more theft from the small pool of tax payers.
