PSU?

I have in a few occasions seen a underpowered or dodgy PSU cause some interesting problems.
See if you can have it tested or borrow one to test.

both stick or ram tested individually and together then returned to the distributor and tested by them...


PSU is the next port of call... Find it od that a 4350 would be straning a 500w psu

The make of the PSU could be the cause. If it's a no name brand it's probably highly unreliable.

Multiple rail PSU. From that spec sheet looks like 216W max per 12V rail. Could be one flakey rail.

yip.. done fresh win7, vista, win xp installs all on diff physical hard drives in the same system..

I had a similar prob for ages with my 8800GT, turned out it was a dodgy psu with some driver issues on XP. Stress your whole system and watch if the voltage of your 12v jumps up and down alot.

My crap psu used to fluctuate like mad. Just do a google search for stress testing tools, u'll find a bunch.

How do you monitor psu voltage while stress testing

Its's Alive, re-rasing this thread...

Just REplaced the power supply with a corsair and the problem persist's... its can only be the mobo or the CPU.....

everything else has been replaced

OMG Im gonna be pissed if its that CPU! That thing worked like a charm for me!

Have you tried with different RAM in the PC?

I recall having 2 months of drama, probably tested my RAM a million times using memtest+ amongst others... and the issue WASNT picked up.

and it WAS the RAM...

Tested ram in all combinations in memtest86 and Microscope and returned it to
Distributors who tested it (probally memteste86+)

Temp on the CPU seem fine. I am leaning towards the mobo.

Whats started out as a budget build has now turned into a expensive because i have replaced most componests

totally feel your pain... been there

do yourself a favour man, get some memory from a mate or summing and try with that. These memtest programs dont pick up the issue all the time...

rather do that, and then you can eliminate that totally, coz right now its still a possibility

prolly the mem, my money is on that!
