Does anyone else find this a bit disturbing?

what boggles my mind is that the ANC seems to be totally powerless to do anything about this twit, he's just showing them up as being the leaderless bunch of useless arse wipes that we all think they are, and they just keep feeding him the gaps that he needs...

he's probably the greatest example of a real live troll I've ever seen

Yet he raised the military alertness status to high for the first time since 1994 -

Johannesburg - Military bases have been placed on high alert following news that Julius Malema is expected to meet with soldiers at a base south of Johannesburg, a report said on Wednesday.

According to the The Times, Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula issued a strongly worded statement which said, in part, that ill-discipline in the military was a direct threat to the country's security.

Malema's planned address has been slammed by the department as incitement.

Top security intelligence briefings, involving several government ministers, were held on Tuesday night, the report stated.

And still receiving pay for doing nothing.

According to the soldiers at the meeting, they haven't been paid for 3 years.

Just a bit of background, these 1100 soldiers defied a military and a court order and embarked on a wage dispute. They were then accused of failing to obey orders and failing to dissociate from a violent protest and mutiny.

The Supreme court has recently ruled in favour of the Department, so now internal disciplinary procedures will be initiated against them. It will probably lead to them being discharged from the military which is more than likely why they're trying to get Malema involved.

Aren't these the same guys who opened fire on the police ?

Which was a total over-reaction by our esteemed Minister of Defense (who isn't even in the country).

That kind of reaction gives him more power and credibility than he actually has at the moment and again highlights the total farcical nature of leadership prevalent in the ANC

touché

'Taken out of context' has obviously outstayed its welcome.

interestingly the bbc report which suggested this doesn't have the quotes attributable to the defence spokesperson. it instead says
The government had taken an extraordinary step by putting the army on high alert and it showed Mr Malema's apparent power, the BBC's Andrew Harding reports from Johannesburg.
