Does anyone just watch TV anymore?

All the time. Love the tube (or crystal rather). None of this newfangled Netflixes the kids are harping on about.
Love having to plan my day around what comes on when (although I do cheat sometimes and record when I'm unavailable), instead of just watching what I want when I want. Adds some structure to life.

My son just watches normal TV, my wife will also just put on the two crime channels and watch. Personally with PVR/Explora I watch on catchup or recordings so no ads, haven't really seen ads for a long time
 
I'm one of the people that don't watch TV. I don't even feel bad on missing out on those famous ads.
 
I watch TV everynight. I love me some tv shows and movies.




o, you mean broadcasted television as it happens? Umm... just sport. The only reason I still have a DSTV subscription.
 
I have both a Roku and Explora and only noticed yesterday that DSTV makes an entire season available on catch up once the season ends
Catch up also has no ads.

On the flip side, yesterday I wanted to watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on Netflix...

I don't feel bad about not paying my TV license for the cr@p they have on those channels
and I don't feel bad for cancelling a R600+ DSTV subscription for all the repeat shows and movies we had to endure, as well as the famous ads.
That = R800+ that could go towards a decent ADSL line and the CHOICE of what to watch and when, as opposed to what is on the schedule :D

You have patience. Good for you. Myself and others are not the same. But man do I f**king hate the American networks' scheduling. Mid-season breaks and sports and elections are the pits. Don't they have like a thousand channels to broadcast those things on?

How so? Most people I know of use some sort of pc system to watch series, movies and sport. I was just wondering how beefed up those systems were. Also wondered on what they spent the most, a pc to view the media or a 4k tv.

They have five broadcast networks.

Repeats, holiday specials, etc - the reason for the hiatus is money and maths. Ratings over the holiday season are typically lower which means less ad revenue and they don't want the season to end too early.
 
Watch the news every night, Carte Blanche, Sunday night movies and Sport. Follow a few series as well.
 
I couldn't be bothered to every watch a basic television service.
We watch what we want when we want.
