Does APPLE really care about AFRICA

I am not Peter Cheales, folks. Also let's not get personal here and start throwing insults because I can throw those around too. Let's grow up and be mature about the issue without behaving like a group of school kids.

Again I AM NOT PETER CHEALES. I do not know the man. BTW I think he is doing a good job.

An Michael Jackson is the biological  father of ALL his kids

Note that I'm not going to insult you. I believe that we should speak here as mature people and not as schoolyard kids throwing mud at each other and laughing at each other's names. Yes I sometimes travel abroad - and yeah I can afford to buy a MBP - so what. That is irrelevant.

I guess you might have a point bygones.;)

Flying to go buy a Mac you the one that brought it up. :D

Oregonians

OK -- Well after all the mudslinging

This is where I am going to buy my Mac from ............

POWERMAX

Umm I think we've all missed an important point.

How can a non-human entity 'Care'?

Apple is a company the pushes Capitalism to it's limit.

Care in any form is not on their agenda.

Apple cares about their image, and thus, customers.

Funnily enough I called these guys a few months ago. I wanted to buy one over the phone, so a Portland friend of mine could pick it up and ship for me. But they said it was not possible. Only physical persons entering the store can purchase.

Instead I ordered it online @ A.com and had it delivered to my friend.

Another obstacle is that all US Apple suppliers (including Amazon, BHphoto etc) are forbidden under contract to ship Apple goods overseas. Shipping can only be done buy a third party.

Lastly, if an authorised Apple supplier offers a price significantly lower than any other, it is likely either by a personal favour or there are silent caution bells ringing. Possibly obsolete or damaged stock.

Umm which Christmas Tree did you fall out of :)

Have you never noticed a myriad of Ads

The "caring" company // we "care" etc etc

Apple SHOULD care -- the more market brand they build and the better they take "care" of their customers the more business they will do and thereby the more profits they will make.

Bollocks, Apple can not 'care' any more than a block of rock.

Sure companies say they Care. But this is really only in relation to their Survival and Profits, not direct concern for their Customers.

Its a mindwash that we all fall victim to, thinking that a corporate entity 'Cares'. And no wonder, considering the onslaught of deceptive PR & Advertising we face everyday.

Our minds naturally want to believe. And the PR juggernaut knows this only too well.

You only need to look at Religion to see how many perfectly clever people get drawn into it's spell. Creating a Corporate image is no different.

Yeah, not sure what business you are in but my company's profile is in the service industry, I care very much about helping my customers because it means that I'm doing a good job. Helping ppl is a passion of mine.

That's great, we need more people like you. But You are not your Company.

Truthfully, I hope you would admit, that you are using your common sense that good service is good for business.

But in business, I'm sure you know that being too Caring can be very detrimental. Say for example, holding onto an under performing employee or providing unnecessary discounts or refunds etc.

The nature of business is that 'Care' is not in the formal vernacular. It's merely another four letter word.

My father had a highly successful Company. And his success was in great part due to his ability to make often brutally tough and sometimes ruthless decisions.

However, he ensured that his many employees were always paid well and his product was of the highest standard. And most impressively in my eyes, is that he never had a Mission Statement or the like. Because really, subjective words mean nothing.

Including 'Care'

I dont have a mission statement either, I just have a passion for my chosen profession.
Take Steve Jobs for example, what he want's from his business is the best designed products that money can buy, now I would assume that below him are ppl that were appointed to fulfill the rest of the criteria for running a successful company, even ppl who really care about customer service. But that's just my opinion.

Fine - if I'm Peter Cheales you will see your name on the HelloPeter.com
homepage.

It will say "bex.cpt pwned by PCH" in Arial 20 pt italic font with the goatse man underneath.

If you don't see that, obviously I'm not Mr Cheales. Let's drop the Cheales thing, I'm sure he wouldn't like it either.

What's the issue with anyone being Peter Cheales anyway?

The guy has got his own site to keep him busy so I don't think he'll bother making 10k posts on this one.

For some reason my high PRO-CONSUMER activism is making some reactionary people think I am Monsieur Cheales. Just because I'm pro-HelloPeter.com also seems to have something with it. Anyway, good that Alfie saw through that.
