With the PSL soccer games to be broadcast mainly on DSTV, I would guess the decoders would be hot stuff on the stolen goods market, so rather cover myself for it.
So does anyone know?
Aren't they quite restrictive about registering decoders, proving ownership etc?
Yeah. i reckon a stolen decoder is useless in SA.
Its the same with all those stolen cars and cell phones. They're all useless in SA. In fact no-one makes any money from stealing cars and phones.
(I'm being sarcastic obviously).
I believe it covers the unit but NOT the card.
So, you need to fork out like R700 for a new smartcard, making the insurance useless.
Eish, it's R500. If you buy a new decoder for R649-00 you're getting the decoder for 149.
zactly.
there was (iirc) a post on HelloPeter some time ago (at least 9 months), where DSTV "justified" this action.
