Does eating bread make you fat?

OP sounds like hes so skinny, the tiny amounts of fat he has stands out, and then he burns any gains away by overdoing cardio...
Then he should rather consume healthy fats rather than carbs.

Double thick greek yoghurts, biltong with fat. Cream instead of milk for coffee/tea...

Part of the reason for this is likely that you are starting your meal with 2 sets of carbs.

All the hysteria about LCHF notwithstanding, I am comfortably able to eat once every 24 hours when avoiding carbs. However, if I happen to eat carbs in the morning, absolutely ravenous by brunch time...

^This.^
Although I don't really do Banting, I have found that eating carbohydrates makes me HUNGRY. It takes me about 2 days of LCHF diet to get rid of that hungry feeling (during which I end up stuffing my face with all sorts of fat/ protein while still feeling hungry). Once I have managed to reset my mitochondria to burning fatty acids rather than glucose (which seems to be what is going on), my food intake also drops.

Hi,

Will bread make you gain fat around your waist? I gym 4 times a week and run on the treadmill 4 times a week 3 km a day. and over weekend i do 5 km on a Saturday and Sunday. I also walk around a lot at work (About 4km a day according to my Garmin)

So in total I jog about 22km a week and walk a minimum of 21km.

I am working on gaining muscle because I am skinny and I also want to lose the tummy fat that I have.

I make 2 sandwiches (4 slices) with chicken and mayo on every day for work. I eat wholewheat or lo GI.

Just want to know if I should cut out bread?

Like I said I am working on muscle building.
This is my eating routine:

Meal 1 - Oats
Meal 2 - Sandwich 1
Meal 3 - Chicken breast or steak strips brown rise and broccoli
Meal 4 - Sandwich 2
Shake
Meal 5 - Chicken breast with broccoli

Will the bread make me gain fat around my stomach?
What happened to the diets that were given to you in the other thread? Do you prefer to just not listen or is there something else wrong with you?

True PD logic right there

PD?

In all seriousness though OP seems to be one of those people who overdoes everything and goes absolutely all in within much logic involved.

Probably all the gym supplements and pre-workout and stuff making him fat.

If he is even fat at all and it’s not in his mind like most other things.

I've put on a kg or two since buying those Christmas mince pies lately :o but they're my favorite and I don't gym for nothing :p

I have an issue with, "I am working on gaining muscle because I am skinny and I also want to lose the tummy fat that I have.". Seems like conflicting goals?

Ditto, I wonder why...

Also, is the 24hours thing to teach discipline or just because?

why is easy, it's all about carbs spiking your glucose levels which leads to your body producing insulin to bring it down, which then results in cravings/hunger pains, when it dips to low again... a vicious cycle

Damn. but I get so hungry during the day.

Refined carbs spike your insulin levels, which makes you more hungry. Eat whole, natural foods and you won't be so hungry all the time. I see you are still ignoring all the advise that was given to you.

Wants to find confirmation to keep on doing what they're doing.

@OP: Eat anything with a lot of fat in it like milk, cream, butter, yoghurt. Don't consume too much animal products since those fats are mostly the bad kind. Work on gaining mass and you can then sculpt that into muscle at a later stage with exercise. Bread is a huge no-no. Rather go with brown rice or basmati rice since bread is just refined flour. Add in a few helpings of pasta per week as well.

Milk, cream, butter, yoghurt - all fatty and all made from animal products. And you recommend them?

Then you say:
Don't consume too much animal products since those fats are mostly the bad kind.

I'm confused.

And you say, avoid bread which is just refined flour, but eat pasta. Remind me what pasta is made from again?

This is a prime example of FAKE NEWS...

Lower your carbs and junk intake. Add protein and fat for energy and building muscle. Take it easy on cardio if you want to gain weight because that just burn off all the recent gains.

So you wanna gain mass, lose belly fat and your skinny but you do a lot of cardio. You need to focus on weight training.

OP? WTF? I mean seriously, another thread about this crap? WTF? Your problem in total can be summed as follows: get of yer ****in' arse and workout more. IE step away from the internets and piss off already.
