Does fibre installation take this long?

Therefore, should you require the location of the Fibre Termination Box (FTB) further than the 30 meter mark, the Frogfoot appointed contractor will assist at a fee of anything from R50 per additional meter (VAT excluded).
The additional cost will be calculated and approved between the home owner and contractor.

It's only free up to 30 meters (which is a fair distance at one's home). After that the consumer pays, which I think is reasonable.
So makes sense that it's consumers not paying.

If I may ask non payment by who because as far as I'm aware most ISPs include the installation. Non payment by consumers?
Installation is included however any additional meterage (30m or more) is charged by the contractor.

Sooo update:

Technician came 2 hours earlier than expected but phoned first. That's a good thing though. Plugged in the router provided by Afrihost and the internet worked to my surprise (was expecting to wait a few days for the account to be activated).

Very happy customer at the end of the day. Even if the process was a tad bit frustrating. Thanks for the feedback and assistance @Frogfoot Fibre. Much love.

Thank you for the update! We appreciate your feedback.

Line installed today in Richards Bay and working.

Frogfoot moved the box so the trenching was 34m....

They also had to trench a straight line right through the garden and pool lawn because the box was moved by Frogfoot to the neighbors boundary wall. Installed and working so grateful for that.

Think I'm in the same boat with afrihost and Frogfoot. Been almost 2 weeks and not even the application has been processed as of yet (afrihost claims 1-2 days for confirmation and acceptance and 2-3 weeks installation). So Nevermind getting a call from any technicians for installation. I am really starting doubt it will be this month now. And all I get from afrihost is that the installation times may vary, no mentioning of following up. But still say if I manage to hear from Frogfoot to let them know what they say so it will assist them in answering those questions. Looking likely I'm going to have to remove my adsl cancellation for now

Email Afrihost and ask for the Frogfoot order number starting FRG I think. Then follow up with @Frogfoot Fibre rep if there is a update on this. The installation times vary and depends on the contractors.

@Luke7777 Had his Frogfoot line installed recently. Happened pretty quickly?

Thank you for the info. I will see if afrihost can assist me with that. I have messaged FFrep already, I will update with the order number and await their reponse

Good Afrihost was able to provide me with the order when I requested it so they will be able to do the same for you. It's good to have for following up with Frogfoot directly.

Hey R3PLICA, we can assist you with the order number. Please drop me a PM with your clientzone username.

Yip, ordered on a Saturday, installed the next Saturday/Sunday

This constant missed calls is why ISP's should stick to whatsapp or email......

Anything that you need help with?
The last time I was assured a call before 20:00 the guy called 22:00 when I was trying to fall asleep...... I had to obviously end the call rather than picking up and no one called again the next day.

Having other things to do my odd irritation seemed a minor thing to worry about so I let it go. I can manage atm, you might still have it in your PM's actually.... at this point I'm waiting to see what happens after 1 May before poking fingers into anything.

Thanks for the details and I apologise for the delay in comms. Our teams are quite heavily impacted by this lockdown, and we don't get to contact clients as fast as we would like. Let me know if there's anything else you need.

Still sitting in the same situation. Been more than 2 weeks now and not even the line application has been processed yet by frogfoot, so not even a yes or no to if the line will be installed( Afrihost.. you mention in your email on sign up that it takes 1-2 days for you to get application feedback?) never mind the lead time of average 2-3 weeks installation. Im even wondering if frogfoots mentioned 4-6 weeks installation time frame that you never mentioned would even be hit. I have not received or missed any calls as of yet. Wondering if i should just bite the bullet and move to the other infrastructure provider with another isp. FRG789237-PLZ-B1
