The file I was using to root, I got it at sammobile, but I flashed the AP file with magisk first before trying root with Odin.So in order to deem it original I don't need to flash AP file with Magisk this time?

You really shouldn’t be rooting and flashing phones if you don’t even have any clue on that one

No flash original with Odin , leave Magisk out of it , anyway sound like you did not unlock the boot loader before you tried rooting

Yes, I didn't unlock it. The mistake I made. So this time around wouldn't it matter if it is unlocked or not?

For the unrooted rom no, if you want to root again ,unlock the boot loader first

I flashed it again and it worked but it factory reset even though the bootloader was not unlocked. It's now working.Thanks, bro, i'll try to root again

I've noticed something, the OEM unlocking option is no longer there under developer options

You may want to take a break for a day or 2 and consider your options.
You can brick a phone very quickly with your level of understanding.

To run specialized/modded/Advanced Apps. Lately, I've been trying to cheat in PUBG Mobile and COD Mobile but when I'm using a virtual rooted Android environment, PUBG detects it and kills the app. It detects the virtual environment. And Game Guardian doesn't work on a non-rooted device. I had things easier when I was Using a rooted P30 Lite. Another reason is for performance tweaks

BEFORE trying rooting once again,

I started the same way, learned as much as I could, learned what I'm Comfortable with, joined as many Telegram groups as I could to learn the ropes,
asked guys questions in those telegram groups, and gradually found my Comfort zone, so not really playing around with Kernels, and not really playing around with building a ROM from scratch, but loading and using TWRP and formatting /data and loading ROM that way, Ive become a lot more confident.

also having a backup phone, helps, in case you mess this up, beyond all hope.
