Not that it helps, but I returned a dead scanner to Take2 once, and it took 3 months to get it back.
Not their fault, but u may have a bit of a wait...

I'll try get a refund because Asus tech support is pathetic. Won't be buying Asus ever again as things stand at the moment

Thanks I'll try this out :)

*sigh*... I hate this crap... They didn't put the buttons back properly... so I think in my case the openned the lcd, fiddled a bit...and then put it back badly... GGGRRR

i voted yes,but this was a still image,if you could provide a small avi video then a further analysis could be made. Can you provide a 20 sec video of this happening

I've sent Take2 an email taking them up on their 'offer'. I also asked if it was possible to get a refund so I could get a different LCD. Never touching another Asus product again if possible.

WTF

Guess what - I just got the same answer on my Samsung 2232GW from Samsung - its normal, and I must accept it... even when I told them I put the monitor next to another Samsung 2232GW and it doesnt have the same bleeding... they said its normal on some screens...W - T - F.

Don't accept that. Some here (IIRC) have successfully returned their Samsungs with back light bleeding problems

If it's not possible to return the LCD, you could try this. It would probably void the warranty though.

Great thanks :)

You mean background colour?

Backlight bleed is most apparent against a black (or generally any dark colour) background.

Thought so.

But I checked that thread you posted, and I thought maybe the light blue colour could be better.

I got a reply. They said the suppliers have done more "extensive testing" and have found the fault.

They'll be replacing it next week
