Mobile Streaming and MMS alerts are the two most important features of a home security camera.

The 3GPP (The 3rd Generation Partnership Project) is an organization that was established in December 1998; please refer to http://www.3gpp.org for the detail on this organization.
The original scope of 3GPP was to produce globally applicable Technical Specifications, and Technical Reports for a 3rd Generation Mobile System, based on evolved GSM core networks and the radio access technologies that they support (i.e., Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (UTRA), both Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD) modes). The scope was subsequently amended to include the maintenance, and development of the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) Technical Specifications, and Technical Reports including evolved radio access technologies (e.g. General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE)).

Is there anyone that can tell me if Vodacom supports 3GPP?

?

i think thats just a complicated way of saying 3gp content. i make 3gp content for a couple of the mobile suppliers and its as simple as a quicktime movie with the correct codec... all that fancy info is the method of transporting 3gp content, which vodacom does....

To add to kvi:

Yes, GSM and HSDPA are part of the 3GPP spec as you posted above, so by definition the network supports 3GPP.

I think your actual question is; does Vodacom support the 3GPP video standard?

Again, the answer is yes. The network is pretty transparent to 3GPP. Rather you need to ensure the end devices support 3GPP and can interoperate.

A lot of the video flowing over the network, especially from mobile handsets is 3GPP and a number of 3rd party cameras also support 3GPP. I've played with a number of them without any hiccups.

But check those end-devices. If you battle, it's probably here. Also, be wary of trandport protocols and codecs. It can be a bit of a minefield....
