Does Vodacomdirect actually exist?

@ Jannie. Blackberry 8520 units awaiting dispatch from Vodacom warehouse. Stock should be arriving @ stores that have back orders form them on Friday. Perhaps contact Vodacom Direct and see if they have dispatched your unit and if they have a ETA for you regarding delivery to Bloemmies :D

Strage how Igear had stock of the 3Gs this morning and will be getting more on the weekend  but Vodacom cannot get any :erm:

That's useful information... especially since I ordered on the 21st, got an email that it was approved and was told stock would be arriving on the 1st. Still waiting :D

And yes - I'm certain VCDirect doesn't exist. Either that or there's one person in the call center and they have no fingers.

And are deaf. :D

+1. lol. apparently their phone lines are down...for the last 2 weeks it must be cause I haven't managed to get through since 2 weeks ago. well, the stock have arrived, just not sure when we will see the phones in our hands.

The lines have been down at VC direct for like a month? Weird :D

So can I actually go into one of the vodashops here in East London and ask them about the VC direct stuff?

Well well, what do you know! Just received my phone.....can you imagine my disbelief when receiption calls me and tells met Vodacom is here to deliver my phone...Gr8 stuff! Thanks VodacomDirect! :D

Got my phonecall today :) Seems they do exist :) Hooray. If they just did a little work on the communication front it'd be a fantastic service. Seriously, if you're a VCDirect spy - improve your communication and everyone will love you and use you!

Should be here before 3pm apparently :)

OK so bberry arrived :)

Questions:

1) What now? There's no instruction manual (there's a safety guide) so what do I do with the thing now? I mean I've put in a sim card but haven't turned it on yet.
2) Do I need to charge it for 12-15 hours?
3) How do I activate it?

:D

Thanks. I still think it's ugly though ;)

You chunk for the 8520
And you still chunking now that you got the phone that its ugly

Dont you do research fella , or do u like buying on impulse

I do research :D

I went into this full well knowing that the phone was ugly - all the BBerry phones are. :p *flees*

But they're very functional and awesome that way so I'm willing to take the knock :)

THEY ARE NOT BLOODY UGLY!!! TAKE THAT BACK!!! lol

Yes, charge the phone till the battery is full. Some people start using it with the little bit of load it comes with out of the factory, but i always like charging the phone fully before I start using it. If you have BIS active on your line your phone will connect automatically to the BIS service and start downloading the service books. Once that is done, you will see a "email setup wizard" in your menu. Follow that and setup your email. If you want to use GPS, click on the SatNav icon and download it. For the rest, it works pretty much as other phone....enter cell number, press green button :D

They are SO ugly ;) :D

I tried to activate BIS by phoning 155 and they transferred me over to Activations. After an hour of being on hold it cut me off :D

Gonna try again - but am I missing something? :D
