Hi Fellow Forum Members

Overview:
so here is my experience with Web Africa, i recently bought a small business and decided to make Web Africa my service provider. I signed up for a number of services including email, domain, website and fibre...
I was very promptly answered with a generic welcome letter and some invoices after that nothing. i have written and called them at lease 11 times, each time i mailed i got the auto response with a ticket number, but you follow the link and NO actual ticket. on the phone calls i have been told they will investigate and call me back.... and then nothing

All i want is some feedback, its been more than a month and i still have no idea if i am getting fibre or not.

so my question to all of you is have you had the same experience with Web Africa, should i look at moving my existing services to another ISP, and if so who?

thanks for you feedback, at least i know some of you will respond to this

The short answer is NO.... BUT I cannot defend their treatment of you. Usually when this happens it's because the ISP(any of them) doesn't have an answer from the "open network" partners. Been with WA since 2005, as good as if not better than any ISP out there.

Now, WA.... do something please.... before I look silly.

Hi JudeC,

It really pains me to hear that you feel this frustrated with us :( Our team should be giving you feedback around your fibre application.

I would like to take this up with our team and get them to give you a call asap. Can you PM your account details and I will follow up on this.

Thanks

Hey WebAfrica Helper,

Can you explain why I , as a VAR, get penalised, by NOT getting the Double Data deal for my current Capped Home and Capped Business clients? My clients want to know and I have to tell them that they are not getting the deal, 'cos they are serviced by my company and not directly by WA.

So my clients want to cancel with me and go directly to WA so as to not miss out in future. So I will lose money and clients.

Just curious.....

JudeC, the short answer is not that short.
When you HAVE their services and there are NO problems then they are terrific.

The punch comes in when, like you've just experienced, you ask them to do something a little bit more complicated... like communicate.
They really really do suck at support or anything more complicated.

Why do people sign up to you in the first place though? You seem like an unnecessary middleman, as far as I can tell?

Honest question.

You would be amazed how few people either know how to organise internet connectivity for themselves OR wish to go through the effort themselves.

We provide that value added service among many other services. We then manage the dialups and handle all technical issues as well as bill the client on behalf of WA. We charge the client exactly the same price as WA and earn a % commission from WA.

I'm battling with similar WebAfrica issues. Six weeks after signup and no progress has been made whatsoever. And now they're telling me there isn't a fibre infrastructure in Rivonia? WTF!

I'm cancelling my contract. I suggest you do the same.
