Does XP SP3 install Genuine Advantage?

Dude why don't you just say i have a pirated copy of xp sp3 and i want to know if i can update it :D

Seriously we won't think less of you :D. WGA is really not as bad as people make out, you either click activate which will then take 10 seconds or you phone microsoft because you have upgraded your pc. Really does not take longer than all the time you have spent posting here :D.

I don't have a pirated copy of XP SP3 (SPs are free) and I don't pirate, I share

I pirate, I hate Microsoft's OS but love the apps that are developed for it.

My XP is a copy of a genuine XP OEM CD I never downloaded it and I'll be pirating 7, I don't use my RC and probably will not make much use of 7 final so might as well pirate it for the occasions that I may need it.

Hail the pirates.

Microsoft said they do not really mind people pirating as long as they use windows so we are doing them a favour :D.

When and were? LOL! URLs please

"Although about 3 million computers get sold every year in China, people don't pay for the software. Someday they will, though," Gates told an audience at the University of Washington. "And as long as they're going to steal it, we want them to steal ours. They'll get sort of addicted, and then we'll somehow figure out how to collect sometime in the next decade."

Since Ballmer runs the show now I don't think Gates counts.

Gates is still pretty influential.
MS paradigms don't change with change in CEO, neither do the benefits. The reason why many software packages are popular is because they are chosen by pirates first. Adobe Photoshop is a great example.

Photoshop is expensive yet good, that's why it's pirated so much.

Maybe now - and it's not that expensive - if you use it professionally, (I own the PS CS4 for Mac version) - if you use it for messing around it is expensive because you're not making money from it. PS has been so ubiquitous on the warez scene that every kid out there has been using it, that becomes engrained - when they grow up and actually need to buy a product - what will they buy? Duh.

Software piracy is great publicity. Many people trawl warez sites to see what the popular stuff is to buy or try (trialware) that very stuff. I've discovered a great variety of products that way - and yes purchased legally afterwards.

shot. I think adobe make their money from companys buying photoshop

Also just because he isn't CEO, he is still a substantial shareholder and chairman of the board.

Adobe is professional software - in the meaning that it has complicated functions and you need to know how to use it to use it properly. It's not consumer software like PowerDVD which plays a DVD or Microsoft Works which writes letters and documents for school or your kid's birthday party.

People will need to spend substantial time resources in getting to know the software - if youngsters get exposed to Adobe at a young age and start to know it from an early age on, when they do go to college and study graphic design or photography chances are they will go with a package they used before. Later when joing a company or being freelance they will request their favourite package and not a more obscure competitor (Paint Shop Pro, Corel).

I also still get updates for XP.

WGA is updated now and again and installed automatically if you have "updates" 'on'
OGA is also updated now and again and installed automatically if you have office "updates" 'on'
