Absolutely nothing here.
No benefits except pension I didn’t even ask for.
Sometimes have to bring in my own milk for coffee because they don’t feel like buying any
Has been the odd occasion where there’s been no bog roll either

Oh and the best part I forgot to add:
This building is on prepaid electricity…well on Tuesday afternoon it ran out and we spent the afternoon in darkness. Boss man was too busy on the golf course to give a flying toss.

This a CPT company? Friend might have worked here lol

This bunt manager of mine pushed me into a breakdown two Fridays ago.
I was taking a short break after coding and being in time wasting meetings from walking in at 8:00
So I had a coffee, and was flipping through YouTube on my iPad to find music to listen to. This was shortly before home time.
He had an issue with that, immediately began to dig into my work and ask why such and such wasn’t finished yet etc etc

What a prick
So why wasn't it finished?

You lot failed the mybb staff.

The staff probaby wanted a bit more perks, and mybb management probably made a deal with them, that they will have a poll, and give them same perks as the majority respondents.

Either Jan has an article planned to brag about how superior it is to work at Mybroadband.

Or the staff can expect a sad cost cutting email next week and Jan is seeing how much he can get away with

I might of missed a reply or two but I am not seeing "uncapped milk"?

I've been vocal about it in the past (for good reason).

Is capped milk a thing?

We just have milk and not-real-milk in every variety and it just keeps going.

Don’t be so blasphemous! MYBB are real busy…. Playing ARC raiders.

Look at all those online subs they get!

We don't have full remote work, but if you have a family problem or something you can there isn't a lot of issue - unless its abused.

Generally though i have arranged:
1. Coffee - Lavazza only you can't work without good coffee. Apparently some want Tea, which i don't care for so whatever they buy lol.
2. I kitted out the Chill area with a pool table, TV (DSTV/AppleTV), and i did put out a poll for a PS5 and was told the staff would rather have physical things to do so waiting for more options
3. I take mental well-being seriously, so all staff get 1 day a month for just disconnecting from work. If they seem particularly stressed I'll sometimes approve more but so far there hasn't been a need to.
4. We buy lunch for the staff every Friday.
5. As a lot of the staff travel for work, i'll throw in a "if you'll be at this hotel you can get a spa treatment to relax a bit" and they can the company will pay the hotel bill.
6. Weekly fruit from the Daily Fruit thing.
7. Vouchers for Netflix, Prime etc.
7. Hugs are always free :)

As long as its not abused, and the work is done, i'm the kind of person who doesn't chase after people's every move. We have had some problems but rare. I'm also willing to help where needed, like one of my staff's family member is sick in another country and they're very down and upset and not sure if they can go due to the cost, so i've let them use my miles to book their flight.

I have been accused of being too friendly to the staff, and not creating enough "fear" of Director's etc but I'm just not the kind of person who likes that. I don't want to rule, I want to make decisions for the growth of the company and the staff and I feel I can only do that if i listen to their opinions and make my decisions based on those. But I know it doesn't gel well with your general "Director" business methodologies.
I want hugs at work :D

A solid hardware budget every 4-5 years to purchase a new PC/laptop.

Also what we call a "balance stipend" which is essentially stuff for mental well-being, e.g. gym memberships, books, spa, gaming, etc. It's just a small monthly amount, but it's nice to have.

This on top of good PTO policies, it's generally pretty solid.

When I work at the office, lunch is basically fully subsidized, and was pretty good (one of the chefs used to be Michelin, non-staff cost is around 20 EUR/meal).
While I am there, can use a company car as much as I like with free charging on premises, since they assume you're going to occasionally pop by client, with client having free barista coffee. That's two weeks a year though that I actually take advantage of it. And obviously stuff like vending machine are free which includes soft drinks, and sparkling water. Nickel and dime'ing on soft drinks that are like <5 EUR/day per employee is really odd when an employee costs like 5k EUR+ a month at the very minimum as CTC.

"Benefits" for me are 100% working from home are a competitive salary with allowed to workation anywhere in the EU, VPN that's actually good (as in yes, I can download a stupid docker image without waiting 30 minutes), and I can actually do my job without it being a management chat, people are trusted to just do their work. Oh, and meetings are, including dailies, are around 2h a week average.

One of the companies I worked for had:
- discounted insurance / token cost,
- prime loans, bean to cup coffee,
- rent company cars for cheap or free if electric
- hybrid work, bean to cup okay coffee
- quite a few holiday places for very cheap due to agreements
- as I was leaving, cheap/basically at cost electricity due to them over-producing

Still left because it doesn't matter if management takes forever, the company is run by HR and salary is not really market competitive, I can just afford to pay for the difference. Only thing I miss is a really nice office 7 min away, I like a change of scenery.

---
Other things I take for granted and don't consider a benefit:
- 25 days paid leave, norm here.
- unlimited paid sick leave, norm here
- hardware that doesn't hinder me, not always the norm but is something I ask in the interview when deciding a company, tells you immediately if devs are even cared for at all. Like R60k / 3-4 years is nothing if the person costs more than that a month.

I had that until I got a bunt for a new manager, and it’s just us working under him that are forced to the office every day.
Lekker discrimination at this gulag I tell you

Luckily with my company everyone is spread out.

One Owner is in Pretoria, the other is in Goerge.
