He probably just smells DVD's. The shipping documents would give a clue as to whether the DVD are pirate ones or not.

It sniffs out DVD-Rs, which smell differently to pressed DVDs.

If dog barks and something is there - it gets a reward,
if dog does not bark - it gets nothing
if dog barks and there is nothing there - it DOESN'T get punished.

So you can guess what the pooch will do....
