Dog with severe allergies

My 13 year old toy Pom had similar problem. I have tried almost every single permutation. I have a brilliant vet who has his entire case history and he helped to narrow down possible cause. But allergies are very tough to pin.

His allergies are linked to change in season. He is on free range boiled chicken and basmati rice. Green veg, carrots, gem squash. When season changes he gets 1 allergen in AM and PM. Baths are done at home with organic shampoo.
We also use a cream that has colloidal silver . U can get it off the shelf at dischem or health shop.

Don't rule out the possibility of grass. When the season changes, there is all sort of stuff in the air. We can't see it. But it's there.

Yes, I have. Had it for about a month. Had basically the same effect as VC, plus she really wasn't keen on it...

Did you slowly change the food or did you change drastically cause it makes a big difference?

our local Vet ran a survey to all visiting dogs and asked questions about our home environment. They saw that clients with a lawn, were 5 times more likely to have a dog with allergies.

They seem to indicate Kikuyu grass being the most problematic, but not the only culprith

It wont just work in 5 minutes. You have to give it time. Cortisone WILL help, just follow the dosage as prescribed. Go to a VET shop and buy hills z/d low or ultra allergen. Ask for some allergax and give 1 in the evening and 1 in the morning.

Try to brush once a day with a decent brush and stop any and all treats. Also stop washing so frequently, was once every 2 months.

I have a shar pei which I have spent ober R20k just on a skin condition so I have been through this many times. Also, check to see if the ears are clean inside, if not, get a solution to clean it. If you want to, you can find a specialist and ask them to do a skin scraping to get to the root problem.

The scratching causes infections which needs to be treated asap. You could also try and source some OMEGAderm which works briliantly.

For how long can one continue to give Allergex? (half in morning, half in evening)
