Dog's barking causes a problem for neighbor ..

From experience I would suggest taking the dogs for walks, that will tire them out, dogs get bored.

During the day is tricky I can can only speak from people complaining at night time and even that complaint was silly, we really tried hard with our dogs to accommodate our neighbor.
But he was a real dooch, he expected them to not make a sound at all whenever he was around.

Every one else had dogs as well so he had no one on his side, he apparently threatened neighbors in a adjacent house but that didn't pan out for him.
I come from the Transkei so maybe I'm just immune to noise :)

Good question, and no they were aquired post settlement. I have 2 cats and they make a bee line straight for under the bed when the dogs come & visit. Not really fair on them as they refuse to come out until hours after the dogs have left.
 
Latest news .. the old lady came and apologised after getting a call from the police about how uncool it is to threaten via sms.
Ex got the neck bands for tryouts, apparently works with sound or vibration so no shocks .. quite dog-mane as one said.
Also at R319 each much cheaper than surgery - just hope it works so they can go back to begin neighborly neighbors.

Some dogs don't react well to being thrown into a strange environment, so I'd be a bit cautious unless you know that your dog won't have a problem with it.

I'm sure the old ladies earlier pleas to silence the dogs fell on deaf ears or was greeted with a cool fsk off,hence the message.

Please let me know how you get on with the doggy collars. That will be my last resort if the dog trainer cannot resolve the problem.
 
Yorkies are not a first line defence against anything, because any burglar will kill them with a single curb-stomp. Your ex is the one in the wrong here, not the neighbour. If the collars don't work you need to get rid of the dogs, because your neighbour is well within her rights to complain to the police and get the dogs removed. Considering how rude you've been to the neighbour already, you should be thankful she hasn't gone this route already.
 
The guy across the road from me recorded his neighbour’s dogs barking during the day then blasted it back during the evening (on repeat with speakers up against the fence)...
Didn't take long for them to shut their dogs up during the day...
 
Feel sorry for the neigbour, having to work nightshift and then trying to sleep in the daytime with barking dogs. If you can`t get your dogs to shut up, give them to a farmer or something. ASAP They are causing this guy a lot of stress.

I used to have a neigbour with 7 non-stop barking dogs, I felt like going postal a few times.
 
So instead of those of you having issues with your own neighbors' dogs grow some balls and confront your own inadequacies, you come here to whine about it and misdirect some of that self-hate towards me? Haha. Feeling better already?

Firstly, the neighbor's a woman, so go read through the thread again and at least try comprehend some this time ok. Secondly it involes my ex, I've never even seen or met the neighbor myself, but I've seen the sms and I will get aggro towards anyone threatening my family. Timid fellows like yourself wouldn't understand so don't stress about it. Thirdly, yes this has been going on for a while but please do tell how to telepathically control your animals when you're not at home. No seriously, seeing as you know everything, please share.

To think we got them in the first place because of their reputation as savage killer guard dogs. What will we do now?

Barking dogs. What is the point of barking dogs? Our neighbour got his house cleaned out, i was 25 meters away during daylight hours, The constant barking meant nothing to me. So training of dogs is the best way to go. I don't think a lot of people realise how much their dogs do bark all day.

My Landlord (old time farmer) told me to learn to understand a dogs language and he was right.
They don't just bark. Dogs have very specific barks for specific things.

Agro dude, calm down. What exactly did the sms say? It doesn't sound like she threatened your kids, just the dogs?

The neighbor hasn't yet given requested feedback re noise levels but apparently the collars seem to work against incessant yapping.
Collars come with 2-way switches for either sound or vibration, vibration seem to give better results thus far.
Dog decide it's barking time, collar picks up noise and vibrates, dogs goes WTF & reconsiders. Peace.
