Cats are worse. I don't have pets as I don't like the nuisance. I especially got a home with an enclosed garden for my kids who love being outside and because of a problem cat we can't use our garden sometimes as it constantly poops all over MY garden leaving the scat where the kids play. Now I have to clean it up and worry about my kids getting sick from the cat. The same cat walks up and down my back wall taunting the dogs of a neighbour who then bark at it. It just sits there enjoying the attention. I am about to retrieve my pellet gun from my folks to "Dissuade" the dumb cat from coming anywhere near my property again.

And if you pet lovers don't like that option plan B is to rent a cat trap, catch the stinking poop machine, and drop it off at an SPCA somewhere on the other side of Guateng. Problem solved. 99% of pets don't cause issues. Its those one or two bad one's that make everyone else's life miserable.

Get a citroenella spray anti barking collar.

It's very humane. No shocking neccessary. Dogs dislike citroenella and it will stop them from barking completely.

ahahaha, I can imagine that. Dog loving the spray freaking out all like 'omg omg when I bark I get wet'.

I'm a bad sales person then. But seriously odd, the majority of dogs and cats should hate it like a plague.

In 90% of the cases with barking dogs, the owner is actually to blame.
Why did you not train your dog correctly?
It really is not that difficult.

As soon as the dog/s start barking, go and have a look.
If it is nothing, or just other dogs baring, correct your dog. Rolled up newspaper works fine.
If they are barking at unsavoury elements, tell your dog to sit and then praise it.
If the dog does not stop barking after the element is gone, correct it again.

This way your dog will only bark when they think there is something for you to look at or come and investigate.

Now, the problem is how do I teach my frigging neighbours this ???

Like I said its not all the dogs so I cant really be blamed. I try give them as much attention as possible but its hard when you leave for work at 5:30 in the morning and only get home at 18:30 and still have a year and a half baby to deal with. When it starts warming up and the sun sets later ill take them to the beach. They start off each other with the spaniel and foxy the culprits 99% of the time. Its in their nature to bark and they are stubborn.

I will see how the ultrasonic collars work. And of course when I am home the collars will come off.
