It's like Slack but better. The free accounts have pretty much all the features other than unlimited storage, so you can have a trial run for free. Excellent apps for Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS and a decent web app. Even covers instant messaging.

I think it's the opposite. Go check out the Play Store listing for their app if you don't have it installed. It's turned into childish crap.

I use the corporate on my laptop.


I have an iPhone. And I would never put Skype on my phone when FaceTime does better quality.

I do not like how they want your skype and MS ids to merge.

My MS mail is only given to people who would be likely to spam me. Then I don't read it.
 
I use Skype for business nearly never day and I actually love it. But normal Skype is terrible. Thank goodness that you can add normal Skype users on Skype for business.

It was ringing on both. Then I was forced to upgrade desktop version, as the old one was oficially banned on their servers. About the same time the latest iPhone iOS 7 version (still supported according to the same announcement) has stopped registering to the MS servers. After more than six months it started to work again, but is not ringing for incoming calls on the phone anymore (reverse situation to yours).

I can't complain on the user interface, as the version running on Win XP didn't change to the new UI yet, I feel lucky. Maybe you can run it in XP compatibility mode on a new PC, I don't know...
 
Damn, Skype still a thing? I thought it died off already.
 
Skype Classic is still old Skype. New Skype, well, they tried to make it 'plug and play', modern and cleaner.
 
I used to use Skype very heavily from 2005 to 2010, then fell off in heavy use and went back to occasional family use.
For that five year period it worked extremely well and was cheap and easy to use.
I used all the perks as well - local Skype number, conference calling, USA number, Monthly plans, auto-renewal, etc.
But now it's a shadow of it's former glory.
