When you spend R400 on a PC game then have to download an almost 500mb patch to make it playable?

How many people have that much international bandwidth left at this time of the month?

Grr

Sacred 2 :(

Had to buy an Axxcess voucher to download the patch - which I have been doing for the last 4 hours

lol....that gave me a nice little laugh.....yeah it does suck man. and i am sure you could hvae got that local from somewhere or soemthing

Either way it sucks. Surely they can prioritize the patches similarly to what is done with OS updates.

wow does that suck! unbeliveable how lazy/greedy the devs/publishers are... even with a brilliant broadband connection its just insanely stupid to have to download a patch that large because they didnt do the job properly the first time...

i was thinking.. I dont know if this is an EA game, but EA is pretty big and they have branches here in south africa.

so why are they not hosting servers for the local south africans. i bet is because it costs them money maybe. I hate it that we pay them for their games and they dont even care. all they care about is the money that is going into thier pockets.
they dont even make games that are nice to play there is always something that sucks in it, yet people will still buy them, and they will never make a game that we actually want. its all up to them and we have to take what we get.

why cant they make a website were people can vote for the games they want to be made. and actually a system where people can put in some of their ideas that they would like to see in the game. that way the next game that comes out, people will actually want. and if they actually put the ideas people gave them. Those programmers are the biggest nerds out there, they made thier money and thats it for everyone else.
they think they have this sort of power, in making people play what they want. they dont understand that. the things they think are cool in the games. actually suck dick,

i played red alert 3 already, and i will not buy a copy, cause it sucks so much balls. even tiberium wars did. they ladt game they made that was good was zero hour, but try and get a sequel to that game... yeah right. thats something the majority can actually play with some skill and is way more fun thatn the other 2 they made instead.

i suppose its going to be like that for ever,,, i'd like to have 5 minutes with the programmers at EA,, there will be blood running up to everyone knees...lol..i will hit them so hard the nerds

lol. If they do that other publishers will steal their ideas.

Lifes a bitch. But we can complain. And yes, it is unfair. :(

Unfortunately I don't think they know about or would take into consideration our archaic internet speeds or pitiful caps. Even if you are capped there it's at a 150Gb or something like that

Finally finished - 6 hours later:eek:

*makes note to copy patch to another drive so that in the event of a disaster this will not have to be re-downloaded*

ok good point...lol....but they coming from the public,,, so other publishers are not really stealing thier ideas, cause it is coming from the people who post there. iother companies will not know which ones they will take into consideration for the game, and most games pretty much have the same things in them, exept for a few different features anyway. so i dont think it will make much difference

The probably got pushed by the publisher to release the game before it was ready. The publisher probably also doesn't care that we here don't have the bandwith. Their main markets have basicly unlimited bandwith so a 500mb patch is no concern to them.

Look at the bright side for two worlds I had to download a 1 gig patch.:(

Try this on spend R400 Download the patch 300 meg and then the problem is still not solved

Yeah, did the Sacred2 hop-skip-and-jump too. Honestly, we need local repositories for these things. I might even pay for the service

Buy Windows for a new PC and see how much international bandwidth you need to use just to patch its security...your Cap gone! .

this cap on international vs local really peeves me off..and it wasn't part of the contract when I signed up for ADSL either.

three thing i like about pirated games are they come with the patch and maybe a few mods and the price is crazy low,i have about 4 pirated games each 100 or so where the real game would cost me 300 or 400 they may come with a few bugs but i scanned it no virus no worm nothing harmfull like keygen when u download it u get like 4 def virus types which were easy to scan and delete but there were non on the pirated game the keygen code was fixed somehow on the pirated game i don't wanna tell where i got my pirated games cause it's pretty popular.
