Mmmmmmm interesting I wonder if there will be a local supplier for parts and services.

Don't think so. CashCrusaders sell the brand, but I doubt this new model. I've had goo life out of my previous Doogee's.

At this price point though, probable not worth the effort to try and replace parts.

So they don't just steal the looks of the Xiaomi Mi Mix but the name too. Ai.

I'm going to order mine straight from China. Would be nice if CC starts selling them. I would pay a bit extra to have a local warranty, but not a lot more.

720p in a 5'5" phone? What is this...2015?

:erm:

It's not THAT bad, really.
Unless you sit with your phone right up to your face, you're not going to see the individual pixels.
(I use 720p on a 5.7" screen and with "normal distance usage" and can't see any pixels.)

And plus, you'll probably get excellent usage with the 3380mAh battery coupled with the 720p screen. :)

I have bad eyesight and can see a difference between 720p and 1080p on a 5.2" screen (Huawei something or other versus Meizu M2 Note).

The other stuff on the Doogee is better \ more (RAM, storage, I assume the SoC is better since it's newer) but I wouldn't go back to 720p for more RAM \ ROM.

Just because your hardware is flawed, don't blame it on the 720p screen! :D :p

Maybe it also depends on the quality of the screen? I don't know.

My vision is flawless and I can tell you now, the "ClearBlack" screen on the Microsoft / Nokia 640 XL is pretty darn good -for a 720p screen. (No pixels to be seen with normal distance usage.)

I'm not sure what screen the Huawei's or Meizu's use...so I can't comment on that.

It's a Samsung Super Amoled. The Xiaomi Mix has a better res but also a 6.4" screen. The Doogee also has 10% higher pixel density. I think that 6.4" is too big for a phone and too small for a phablet. 5.5" is going to be just the right size to carry around. Considering DSTV is, at best, 720 on the "big" screen, I guess the quality will be ok on the "small" screen. Everything else will be pretty cool.

There are some conflicting reports on the screen resolution by various "testers". I'm going with the manufacturer's spec of 720 until i have one in the hand to test.

Ok, it should at least be "acceptable" then, I guess.

I went and had a look at this phone - nice, love the minimal bezel like the Xiaomi Mi mix

However, when I went to look at what is boxed with this phone, I saw something odd -
what is the item in the bottom right corner ? Am I just perverted, but it looks awfully
like a condom to me. All it says on the wrapper is " Stick in hole and feel the world"

Hmmmmm ? :D

Here is the picture, take a look and tell me what you think it is

I also saw that and the Doogee logo looked very much like a Durex logo. No it is a wipe that you need to use to make sure the ring sticks to the case.

Got to laugh at the Chinese. Do you think they do it on purpose to laugh at us? I think they have a wicked sense of humor and play "dumb". They probably have serious board room meetings on how they can pull one off. Like who came up with Banggood as a store name?

I've got mine coming at the end of the month. Pictures will be in order.
