Doom 3 and Half-Life 2

I just picked up these 2 for about 80 bucks each. Half life 2 is the game of the year edition
Wanna know if people still play this online locally? If so how do I get started?
Been completely out of online play.

Got Doom 3 for pc, but got bored with it.

Yea I never finished Doom 3 only got half way... it got so predictable later... Half Life = awesome series, get yourself Episode 1 and 2 aswell... And play Team Fotress 2... Hl2 Deathmatch has a server but not that many players...

I can't install Half Life cause I keep getting an error on disc 4
keeps saying source models.gcf not acessible!!!
Anybody know where I can get another disc 4?

Doom is amazing isnt it?I too got bored and remembered the god mode cheat from the earlier games.
Bam infinite health!Cheated my A@@ through that game quicker then you can say:

I got through Doom 3 without using a single cheat - part of the scary feel is created by you not being invincible and gunning it towards the next medi-station. The last part of the game was a bit of a snore though... I guess the novelty wore off?

EDIT: HL2, on the other hand, was utterly fun-tastic! Combined with Episodes 1 & 2, it is some of my fondest gaming memories EVER. The closing sequence for Episode 2 left me breathless, to say the least...
