Well then, you now have the ammo, should you want to take it further, to really nail him. If he persists with the phoney lawsuit rantings, give him a last chance to apologise and make good. If not send off a copy of the invoice to SARS along with a cover letter, stating your case....... and person will wish he was in Kansas not Boston or Cape Town or under a rock. You don't fck with chuck(SARS).
Person, for the love of all things that are good and decent, please, please apologise and make good on your commitments. You are going to land yourself in a world of hurt. All uneccesary. Tsk, tsk.................

Boston as in Boston, Cape Town ?

I'm still waiting for him to sue me !!! So that I can cap his ass!

Thats the thing idle banter, he does not have the grounds to sue anyone. The people that have invoices with VAT charged and no Vat Number however........... Well thats a whole different kettle of fish.

Sorry, I know this is a bit of a side curve but can anyone help me to source this case. If not can someone provide a place where I can buy it?

It's the Coolermaster Praetorian 730/732 in black.

Sorry again but as you know this whole issue was about this case and I still want to get it :D

incubate, I recall seeing Praetorian boxen at Rectron once upon a twice and I see in my latest pricelist they still list a Praetorian 731 (goes to coolermaster.com) in silver, kinda fugly compared with the black one you want. ;) Just as an idea, what do you think of the Thermaltake Tsunami series?

Yea, yea - I get you  ..you want what you want, and that's that! I've known 'em to keep stock from days gone by, so it's worth the call (I'll just have to take a tranq' to cope with sales staff!)

Well it just that I like the look of the case and haven't seen another that I like. Not fussy just don't like the others i've seen. I've contacted Rectron before and they said that they won't bring in that model because there's not a big demand for it. Thanks for the help though bdt :)

If you someone can try find it somewhere else, even good international sites, the help would be much appreciated.

Thanks :D

Exactly! If you charge VAT and have no valid VAT number, it is pretty certain that you are pocketing the VAT yourself ( maybe one of the reasons your prices can be cheaper than everyone else - a NICE 14% extra margin  ). Stealing from the fiscus - SARS take a very dim view of that. In fact, I take a pretty dim view of that.

Better sort the guys out here kid, or a nice little VAT audit courtesy of Uncle Pravin might be coming your way. LOL

I say I think he has learned because I kinda feel sorry for the guy and I think he deserves yet another chance to say sorry and to maybe be forgiven.

Hmmmmm.... Maybe......... NAH!

If he wants forgiveness let him go to a church!

OMG! OMG! OMG! Guys, guess what?!

*pause*

Still no email... no proof of payment... no new card...

Time is running out... he might have a little bit more time than I initially though, 'cos I'm stuck without transport at the moment, so no going to the cops until that is sorted out... bugger.

Pity the SAPS don't have a website where you can press charges. Now THAT would be cool!

I'm such a geek.. :p

Hey... SARS have a website, no? *ponder*

hi guys,

well there are simply too many posts here which are similar to my experiences with Brian.

TheYak:
My Gainward 7900GT bombed out about 3 weeks ago with Brian promising to send a courier (nothing). Fortunatly i got the card before i had paid, so i owe him money and he owes me a graphics card.

Next:
A while back when person was semi-legit he told me that he had passed with an A-aggrigate. So he was clearly BS'ing me. I know that he matriculated in 2005 because i had seen him at many of my schools complusory events (rugby). He was definatly a matriculant of 2005.

Next:
zOMG, i dont have time...will post my e-mails, replys (and maybe ill be sued *snigger*)

jbf how do you make 14% if your not a vat vender

you buy the components with 14% vat even if you dont have a vat number you sell it according to the price which included vat, thus you pocket no extra money

you cannot make money the way your suggesting nor do you pocket 14%

all your doing is not handing the VAT over to the receiver

so your remarks are way off the truth my friend

He did not need to be registered for vat if he was under the threshold. The implication of not being registered for him would have been that he could not claim input vat back and this would thus have been included in his cost of stock. But he would not be able to charge vat on his sales and his clients will not be able to claim vat on the purchases. But if he had a vat number on his invoices he has serious problems, SARS does not play games with VAT fraud...

I suspect a company that claims to have 3000 employees might have to be registered for VAT :D

He was asked once on another forum if he was VAT registered and his answer was YES.

My accounting is obviously not so good at 5 am! You are correct and I apologise. But there is still something very fishy about his VAT, as he reportedly charges VAT on his invoices ( which I assume reflects a marked up price ), so there is likely still to be some VAT not getting paid over.

Yeah if you ARE VAT registered you can pocket some extra money by not declaring your income, it's called fraud.

You see, you buy the components from a VAT registered supplier, then sell them to a client but don't track the sale. Then when it reflects in your books, the components are simply a company expense, so you can claim the VAT back. Because you never paid the income VAT over you make an extra 7% or so depending on your profit margin.

I hope the states work out for Brian it seems his retailing future in SA is over. I think if Brian was more honest there would not have been this fall out and the customers complaining would not have made this a public issue.
