Dot Computers (wtf) - part 2

Problems with DOT IT.

1. False Claims
2. Ignoring Customers
3. Giving Legal Threats to Customers only trying to get their goods or a refund.
4. Not delivering goods on time. (This has happened many times)

Any good retailer would have issued an apology to the customer and sorted the problem out quickly. DOT IT on the other hand flat out ignored the customer or refused to deal with him. This is after the customer transfered funds and did not get any goods.

IMO a business that acts like this should not be allowed to use this forum to do business. DOT IT/Brian has been banned on quite a few other forums due to his shadey business practices so why is DOTIT still allowed to do its thing here?

Antowan as Rsx has pointed out, this is not just a little case. He's threatning to sue everyone who talks the truth (see email to incubate and phonecall to Jeeva) because they are talking k@k about his business practices...or not.

He's been banned on 2 other popular forums and on 1 he's been banned, then unbanned then banned again!

If he uses MyADSL to expand his business, he must take the heat for not performing. On a side note, why is he allowed to offer prices yet his banner is not on this site anymore?

Just be aware that he's a danger towards the intergrity of this website. (Remember 3 different forums with different admins!)

So how about it mods - how about you all say no to overt business being done on the forum and we can perhaps avoid this mess from happening yet again in the future?

Interesting .. it seems that if you criticise the guys marketing on this forum like Vodacom or Dot Computers, you get closed down. And it's the same mod again. What's the deal here?

He isn't. Please report such posts. A company may respond to user requests, but pricing can be communicated via PMs. Only advertisers can put pricing in their banners.

It is up to forumites whether they interact with known reps of business or not. All we ask is that deals take place off forum. Would be kind of daft not to allow companies to interact with possible and current customers. :)

Pricing and deals etc can be made via email or PMs. Pricing doesn't belong in posts. Forumites are reminded to report such posts. Obviously one forumite can point out pricing to another on the forum. We just don't want companies to give pricing in threads unless there is a very good reason, inside threads. We have advertising options for that. :)

Check your facts first before putting your big foot in your mouth, I did not close the thread in question, which completely invalidates your constant backstabbing attitude towards me. Either get over yourself or find another website on which to air your personal vendettas.
Never mentioned any names. As I said before ... if the cap fits..

Careful now Skeptik. You are off base.

As for those who think we are affraid of legal action (and closing threads without other concideration), know this, we are not. Why should anybody within legal bounds be scared of the law? There are so many processes to follow before even dialing up "Lawyers R Us" that peace can prevail without wasting any judge's time. :)

A thread will only get closed if it is bad for the forum, in other words the majority of forumites.

OK I'll try and avoid saying anything which any paranoid person (not the dot.computers one) might think is about them.

5. He's not a registered voter.... (I checked)

Does it make any difference who closed the thread?
It was done in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of this forum.

Why do we need to explain ourselves all the time.

Person should also find another way to communicate with his customers.

Personally I am annoyed at the outcome of this whole saga.
Here we are, again, as the Mods, partly getting the blame for something that is out of our control.
Not once during the whole time that the thread in question that was closed was there any reported Bad Posts. Not one.
I know. I get instant email notification.
The first thing I got is some or other demand that the thread should be closed. Well toss that. Nobody demands anything from me.
But just let somebody post a thread with Advertising or Spam, the emails come rolling in, so we know that you guys know how to use the Report Bad Post feature?

Pah. I am going to browse other threads.
..........

ROFL! Just be careful when attacking mods. We will explain ourselves as always, but as with anything on the forum, try not to get personal.

I did say overt advertising - and there was plenty of it if memory serves.

Its up to you - and the other mods - to draw the line. Have fun :D

LOL. Yeah Ajak.
Thanks for adding your humour. :D
Just feel like we are partly to blame for something we were not following.

If forum members do not use the Report Bad link, how the heck must we smell what is going on?

Consider the line drawn. Please report it when you see it. Thanks so much. :)
