lol. I actually felt really bad at the time, because I knew how hard it was for me to get into the game, and then for some guy to come **** on you can be dis-heartening.

Just for the record though, I don't consider myself a good Dota player... Just better than brand new

Yeah I remember back in Dota 1 days when a group of us level 40-60s would create a (0)apem just as a confidence booster after getting stomped. You kinda feel bad but laugh a little too

Problem for me was that I too often encounter people try-harding in pubs. To me pubs should be a place where it is acceptable to screw about and you leave the serious stuff to ranked. However without ranked these guys get so serious in pubs. I'm hoping we can separate the 2 now and overall make everyone happier.

but last two nights finding either ranked and normal is broken...

I haven't played last two night, but app there have been general issues with regards to matchmaking. I'm sure I saw some thread about it on Reddit.

It's not matchmaking that's the issue, it's actually finding a match.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but isn't this the same thing? Some players are battling to find games because the matching isn't 100%.

This is for both ranked and unranked.

Not sure to be honest. I always thought that if it can't find a perfect match for your level then it would widen the search until you get a match.

I mean makes more sense to have actually have match, even though maybe MIS-matched, than no match at all.

Either way last night found 2 normal matches, then searched over an hour for ranked and normal with no luck.

I played a few games yesterday night, after work at around 6ish I found a ranked game in something like 30 seconds on SA servers which was quite a surprise to be honest.

As for normal match making we were in a 5 stack yesterday night and we searched for something like 15 minutes per game so something is up with Normal MM yesterday, usually in the worst case scenario we would search 10 minutes. But we will see if this gets fixed.

So I don't think you are wrong in that it will widen the pool, but I think that is set to a limit. It won't do it to a point that the game is unfair. If you ever watch RTZ stream, some times he can wait 30 minutes for a game. And it not due to that lack of players searching in NA, but just his MMR is that much higher.

But I think your (and many others) issue is due to Matchmaking being a bit broken right now.

Indeed. Said it before but OSR has devided the player pool ,making it harder to find matches. I like the idea but assume it will be a fad and will blow over soon.

FML, waited an hour for a ranked match last night, first 3 picks (me included) picked carries.....and.....4 and 5 does as well.
Game starts, no courier for 5min, I switch to playing support Slardar, buys couriers and wards, giving my Drow partner farm priority. He simply right clicks on creeps, had about 3 CS at 10min.

So much for thinking people know what they doing in ranked.

Played SA ranked once, There was one guy on the enemy team with a MMR of something like 1838 and I was the Highest MMR in my team with a TBD, Our AM at 30 min had a yasha and then said "Guys what item should I get now" needless to say we lost quite bad after winning mid quite hard. So this weekend I'll play my last 4 placement matches and hopefully it gets better

Lol I think the AM was still new to the game TBH, he had quite a good support in lane and was farming under tower but then decided he will get richer in the jungle pre battlefury.

I've done 7 matches now, can't wait to finish my next 3 and be calibrated. Although I can't see how that will fix waiting times.

I might just go back to normal after that. I mostly play with friends anyway.

Probably won't fix waiting times only quality of games you play.
