Well I play maybe 2-3 games every night, with my 2 boys, maybe more on weekends.

And I like hats. So, I will buy it. And so will they.

Would also allow me to really get "into" TI6 and enjoy it for what it is.

That's the other thing. Jusxt having it lets you get into TI a bit more.

To be honest, even if I wasn't planning on playing much over the next few weeks, I would still get it. For the amount of hour I get out of this free game, valve deserve to take some of my money...

Regional qualifiers finish today. Wonder if it will come out shortly after that or tomorrow morning.

When exactly will TI6 be taking place?

I think the main event starts on the 8th, and the grand finals are on the 13th of Aug.

There is usually a seeding/qualifying that takes place the week before too if I'm not mistaken.

Last years compendium was already out by now. I wonder if they waiting for the Epicenter lan to be done before releasing it.

....with the Mannila Major in-between.

Time is running out. We'd probably get it this week.

Hmmm, all these majors have caused some scheduling chaos for various tourneys already. I was watching one tourney (cant remember the name now) where the one team playing was scheduled to play in another tourney. Think they ended up delaying the other tourney by 4 hours or so due to the conflict.

That alone caused a knock-on effect with some hectic scheduling nightmares for various teams and tourneys.

well, the equation is simple....

...the less time the compendium is on the market the less money Valve has and less prize pool for TI6.

Since they'd love to top Ti5, I can't see it taking much longer. Only real issue is that the Winter pass covered Shangai Major only, and there is not enough time between Manilla and Ti6 to run two compendiums.
That leaves a combined super-compendium coming out *SOON*

You reckon TI6 is going to be based on the same funding/prize pool principles than TI5?

Here I was thinking they'd just make it like the majors with a preset prize pool, I mean, isn't that why they introduced The Majors in the first place? :D

Just have 1 mega compendium you buy at the beginning of each season that covers all the tournaments for the entire season. Then the rewards and mucking about with a particular hero for some compendium challenge never ends and your mate has to play Chen every game for 3 months before you finally win 1 so he can get that new hair cosmetic for Luna! Yay! :D

Not sure if anyone else bothered with the All Hero Challenge, I managed to finish 1 and gave up the second time around.

Meanwhile, daNtjie_kat finally finished his 10th challenge this weekend, how is that for determination!

Determination?

**** people that play the challenge, I did it once when it came out. So tired of people like him, it took him sometimes 10 losses in a row to win with some heroes, do you know how painful that is to play with someone soooo bad with certain heroes but they play it because "duh challenge herp"!

Lol yeah I know what you mean and I understand your point of view, it's still an impressive feat though.

Plus he did play them all in pubs, if it was in Ranked matches it would be a completely different story on how I felt about it.

Not even slightly impressive.

I naturally assumed Ti6 would be semi "crowd" funded purely because to the success of Ti5.
The Majors are all $3mill and funded Valve and Sponsors, so I dunno really. Would be kind of lame to have had a $18mill Ti5 only to have Ti6 top out at maybe $6mill or so?
What do we know anyway....time will tell.

And about AHC.....I've started down the path, and I made it someway in. I only do it when I queue alone and in pubs, not something that happens often. And only when I feel like it. Like now, I have to do Nyx, and I suck at Nyx, so will take some time.
What do you get for finishing it?

Your AHC trophy level 2 etc etc :p

I myself am enjoying Ranked games for the time being, will probably take a break again once the Majors start or when the compendium gets released and spend more time watching than playing.

Hey Guys

Quick question.....I don't want to post this on any official blog as I'm currently greatly benefitting (or at least I think I am)

Anyway..

So I recycled 10 things, and got my charm.

I then won 3 matches correctly predicting, and received my set. (losing 1 in the process)
Then at the start of the next match I noticed my prediction button still there, sitting on 2 victories.
So I predicted again, and won. Another set.
I've now done this 3 more times, each time getting a fresh set.
Guess next time I lose it will disappear, or will it?

Is this a bug? Am I just lucky or is this working as intended?

Pretty sure that's not how it's suppose to work :D

Here's hoping you don't lose any predictions!

yeah I'm pretty careful when predicting....been lucky so far. I'm 6 wins with 1 loss since getting the charm.
WTS : Old sets! (as a bit of bad karma to even things out I keep getting sets for heroes I don't play , or duplicates.)
