I play Dota because I like the game, not because I'm extremely good at it, unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of players as verbal abuse is a common occurrence.

Most of the time I will play support heroes, warding being my main concern and giving all creeps to whomever is laning with me, but irks me when people start tuning you that you have no items 20 minutes into the game.

Im in in around 4 min on average. Dont know why yours took so long.

Then your MMR is probably not set yet. That's why.

You have to play 10 games before the game works out what your MMR is.
 
What exactly is the point of having an MMR?

Does it stack you against other players of similar value/rank?

If that's the case, isn't it rather silly, how are you ever going to improve your skills if you keep playing against people that suck as badly as you do?

Btw, afiak you can only start playing ranked once you've reached level 50

The system is meant to be fair and provide fun games. If you want to get better you do that OUT OF GAME. Not in game.

In game is where you should should be applying what you've already learned.

Ive played around 100 :P Just never looked for mmr or anything like that :D or at my stats or anything. I dont even know where I would find my stats... Yes, thats how little attention I have given to the interface :D
 
Perhaps that is why people swear at me all the time as I prefer learning in real time with real people playing, not bots :p

You don't need bots to learn. Although Dota2 does have a nice mode to help you last hit.

Then you should also keep tyrack of patch notes. You can also do that on JD.

For the basics practice against bots. By basics I mean learning the mechanics of the abilities of a particular hero or learning basic dota map mechanics (when runes spawn, when neutrals spawn, how to prevent neutral spawns, how to pull etc.).

Beyond that though there is no substitute for playing with actual human players. For example the bots generally don't panic like human players sometimes do.

It is quite a bit lower than that. Level 13 if my memory is correct. I'm not level 50 yet and I've played some ranked matches before. I tend not to bother with them as the wait is too long on SA servers.


Is there some sort of MyBB Steam gaming group or something? Would love to play with some mybb members sometime.
 
Just laying it out there , BVD.Emo is playing vs Infused ( The Brits ) tonight.

You have to play +- 150 games before you can play ranked.

I only follow the big teams. Navi, EG, Fnatic, DK, C9, Alliance and Empire etc....

Good luck with that. They been playing like ass lately. Even the unreliable(yet my favourite team) C9 is doing better.

I'm actually surprised how well EG and Fnatic have been doing lately.

TI4 is going to be very interesting.
