Overthrow is fun and games are quite quick.
Spin TD - always good. Haunted Colloseum and Overthrow seems quite popular. Also, Pudge wars, but I dislike it intensely.
Will give those a try - are there a lack of games here in SA or do you just land up playing on EU servers?
Ya, there aren't a lot of people searching hey. Keep an eye on the custom game lobbies - sort it by connection and if you see someone queuing for something you'd like to play, just join the lobby.
It's easy to fail sniper if they counter pick you and blink on your face. Happens even with 6 k games.

You make it sound like it is a case of "pick sniper, always win". This is something I'd expect to hear from a new player, not an experienced one. No such thing as a totally unbalanced hero. Every hero has a counter.
With sniper you use distance closing heroes early on to stomp him. He has no escape and has like 4hp early on. A light breeze could kill him.
Especially love when snipers go mid and you have a good ganking roamer support on your team. CM or a bounty with an Orb of Venom. Expect to farm that sniper like a creep under those circumstances.

If you pick a sniper you can almost bet your butt that there will be a support coming kill you at minute 3/4 even earlier if it is a bounty. Expect that to happen in 2 or 4 minute intervals after that. People have learnt that if you leave a sniper early game you are setting yourself up for a GG in mid game, unless you have a Riki on your team, but then you deserve to lose.
Ok their team had, riki, sniper, void, OD and voker,
They all had huge negative KD's.
Not sure if MM was broken or what.

That line makes me sad.
Must be a low skill game, it is very rare I play a game now a days with out at least 1 or 2 support.
But as i said the sniper had 4k+ hours, watch the game and you tell me.

No wonder sniper got his ass handed to him. A sniper with no support is a dead sniper.
That sounds like a lower skill game.

On top of this, the idea that "OMG, you gone 2 - 16 in one game, you must be so crap at this game. please uninstall" is absolutely mental. Dota is a game of two teams, 5 v 5, and it is impossible for all 10 players to have a good game every time. It is the nature of competition (and this is for all sports, not just Dota) that for every person that performs well and has a good game, there will be some unfortunate soul that is having a rough game. There will be games where you don't perform well at all, and then other games your team mates don't perform well at all. You can't expect all 10 players to be on point with their heals, shallow graves, hooks and force staffs all the time. If we were all that could, we would all be at TI.
Unless someone is feeding couriers, or running up mid to feed the opposition, remember that nobody is trying to play badly. And that includes the sniper who went 2 - 16...
