Which sucks, even more so if you having a decent game but a team mate is letting you down with super poor plays. Just try remind yourself that it not like that person is failing on purpose. Same as when you make a questionable play. You not doing it to piss people off.
 
Just got Dota 2. Played four hours in bot games and waited two hours for updates. bit frustrating you can't just play. You always updating

It's because they are constantly updating the new client.
 
What does that mean? Please excuse my ignorance. Not really a gamer. First online game I've got for PC. Play a bit of xbox. Loving gaming and hope to get more involved

It usually updates like 10s of MB each day. Nothing major. Just adding items from the workshop.

Every now and then you get a big update. Recently there was a 1GB update but those are pretty rare.

Sometimes it is a few hundred MBs. I tend to just launch Steam 10-20 minutes before I want to play and let it update to be sure.

Hats, hats and more hats! Oh, and when they add new tournaments/tickets. But yeah, when I used to open steam I'd usually just play a quick HS match while Dota and CS:GO updated.

Just a friendly warning (because you're new and probably haven't experienced it): most updates happen on a Friday. And usually, because SA is 6+ hrs ahead of the USA, it's while you're playing. Don't know how many times it's happened where I've just finished a game and seen that dreaded message: "your Dota client is not up to date". Not much you can do, except let the people in your stack know you'll brb, close the app, and let it happen.

I haven't played in a couple of weeks, but when Reborn went live it was happening all the time with the rolling bug fixes.
 
So I must be getting a bit better... I got paired in a game with D3x! over the weekend :p

we won a game last night with mega creeps in 20 minutes on very high skill.

i had close to 500gpm as 5th support.

After all the updates and a short but serious addiction my harddrive crashed last night. Didn't think I'd get addicted to a PC game. Thought I was a console geek.

Ha ha. Nah we came through with the win. Was one of your pudge mid games... I was on the TA mid.
