I have a user who's mouse is double clicking all the time.

As you move the mouse over something it double clicks, ive checked the registry , disabled all startup applications with msconfig, and ran a full virus scan with symantec, and also checked the task manager for funny executables

and nothing!

How can i disable the mouse for now so that i can properly troubleshoot, its a laptop so the trackpad can be disabled via the trackpad switch on the laptop itself but it still seems to be double clicking all the way.

Damn frustrating

Go into the hardware manager and disable the device there.

Cant believe it , I uninstalled the Synaptic Pointer Device Driver and the problem is gone!
can it be that the driver went corrupt or got infected ?
