Download Torrents at full speed using HTTP - Final Beta

I don't know about you guys, but I am using btaccel.com. The speed is fast, and the service has almost 100% uptime. I don't know how to register though (or if it costs money), a very good friend of mine gave me an account and already registered for me.

GOOD NEWS!!! Btaccel was invite based but are currently allowing registration without a code. You get a free account with 100GB storage a month.

LMAO

So wait with our uncapped accounts we must pay you 49 bucks a gb for storage? I have seen some pretty interesting idea's this is not one of them.

Hmm , interesting find, but, "bandwidth free 5.00 GB " not 100GB space anything, maby as a invite user you got some privaliges, or, they dont count usage...
Also USA based so by law, they have to forward your details to MPAA & RIAA (and they state as much in there terms) - As were not USA based, we respond to notices, but users info is kept private.
And since the op wants to try and compared this to downstorm
No private torrents
No sub selection - Sometimes you only want a certain file(s)
No one click access to multiple file downloads
No options for encrypted downloading - seems more and more people want this option

So not comparable to downstorm... this is what downstorm was in V0.00000001 .... if your looking for free, then just download direct via a torrent client. How much cheaper can one get :-p

Ello killa, same LMAO at your statement, its not a must, its a product, but noja ... everyones a crytic. Youle be surprised what some users are pulling with just 1gb space ... For some, its all they need, and we were asked for low storage accounts. So we made it ...

Not necessarily a bad idea. I can imagine situations where it can be useful. e.g. This thing runs 24/7, so a low seed torrent would download efficiently for ppl who don't run their PCs 24/7. Uncapped won't kill this idea...it hasn't overseas.

Interesting. Signed up for good measure. I doubt that I'll ever do any heavy torrenting.

what makes a pay download torrent service great ?

a) download at 10meg line speed +, this helps with badly seeded or huge (like 30 and more gigs) torrents not to mention that it cuts down in the waiting of any torrent.
b) you don't do upload, no bandwidth waste there.
c) max line speed for download from start to end.
d) no mpaa/safact up your arse, well hopefully ;).

mostly my reasons why i used a pay service in the first place. sure it's a few bucks extra, but it does same time and money...

How does a 49/gb save you money, it would be cheaper to just run your pc 24/7 with an uncapped account.

Sorry but i cannot see how this is a good idea? What is wrong with running your pc 24/7 though and why can people not do it? Seems like a very high cost to pay.

one i used was like R160 for 45 gig storage and unlimited download during one month cycle. it's like one months of wow/mmo sub and then you have them do you dirty over their fast lines. coupled with an uncapped line makes up for very nice torrents over http. sure you can leave your pc on 24.7 but can it do 20mbs+ ? can it do that speed with a torrent that's only have 2 seeders not to mention i've pulled a few with that service that's only 1 seed. obviously not every torrent is poorly seeded, but on certain things you don't have a choice. what you missed is no-one is forcing you to use it, but it does have it's uses and works perfectly when it's priced right. furk.net however is a good example of what worked and now is not so great since you pay like 9 eur and only are allowed to transfer a total of 40 gig for a whole month...

...i tried the leech-a-lot with one pc being 24.7 on and just throwing in things in it's queue, but it died with hdd failure, i wonder why ? ;)

Have applied for a BETA test account but have not received a reply email yet. Also I see the site status has changed to yellow.....

This definitely is a good thing but R49 for 1GB is just greedy. I'm sorry but leave the greed to telskum and iworst. If you charge R25 for 1GB you are for more likely to make money because people won't feel so ripped off and you will probably sell 3x more of those accounts.

for 49 bucks you can get 2GB's from afrihost and download full speed??? wtf...
this product is no longer needed...
if you need http downloads just get a rapidshare account, or news or whatever.

you dont only get to download 1gig you got 1 gig space you download somthing then download it through http then delete it on the server and download again.
though there are much more affordable solutions if you like me and enjoy downloading huge packs and HD stuff but for the odd episode that you want full speed this is not to bad.
so far pulled 2-3 gigs off the trial by downloading a torrent then deleting it after im done downloading the http version.

though just one though FTP access would be cool to all our folders also RSS feeds etc also HDD's are not that expensive maby increase it to 20 or 29 ran per gig will make a few people way more interested.

just compared speeds started same torrents on local PC and there server started PC ones then went onto starting server ones so PC got a head start, PC was going at 100 kbps max by time i was at 6% the server completed all the torrents and now im downloading 420KB's of there server good service +1 for you guys

I had my ADSL modem rendered useless by this website, twice, first time thought it was a fluke or finger trouble on my side, second time mad me angry. Good luck to anyone trying to log onto this website. Using Firefox with a DLink 2540. Website asked for my username and password for the modem, clicked on cancel and that was when my troubles started.

I preferred the downstorm version whereby it downloads the torrent and gives you a NZB to download so you can use your local bandwidth to downlod the torrent through a news server. Will this be on offer again by DOWNSTORM?
