Dreaded black screen on Oneplus 6

hi all
need some advice
have experienced the dreaded black screen on my Oneplus 6
it experienced some overheating few days ago and then on Thursday night it suddenly went black
tried the usual power+volume switch...no result
put it in freezer and then it didn't switch on but did start to show it was charging but was not on

after whole night of charging was still black screen in the morning
took it to local repair company who said it was motherboard and they couldn't help

is there anyone who might have a solution or can guide me right direction of fix or company that might be able to help with repair?

thanks. Have iPads and that's my limit to Apple ecosystem
my Oneplus 6 has lasted me well since its release way back
Not even a Samsung fan

hmmm, why limit yourself when you could just reach for the stars by getting an iphone?

Agreed, oh to be clear I am open minded & don't like to be grouped together with the other "sheep" even though I am an "Apple man".

I do try objectivity etc.

There are plenty of things Apple could do better as well.

Like going back or getting to settings, quickly, or even different volumes for different things.
Not the most intuitive OS.
 
Objectively… the faulty Android posts waaaay outnumber the faulty iPhone posts. But don’t mention that, you have to seem impartial!
 
nobody knows of any fixes or people that might be able to assist with black screen/motherboard?

Why waste your money? Upgrade. A motherboard will cost more than the phone is worth.
 
By the time you bought a new phone and fixed your old one you won't be far off buying an older pixel

How is the volume slider unintuitive? It applies to whichever device you’re currently playing to.
 
am contemplating something like the samsung a25 for +/- R4k to use briefly before passing it to my daughter
the new A26 im guessing will be close to R6k

maybe , but im not looking to spend so much knowing that i will be buying a more flagship phone if my oneplus is unrepairable
