Dreaded black screen on Oneplus 6

How is the volume slider unintuitive? It applies to whichever device you’re currently playing to.
Your alarm volume is the same as your media is the same as your ringtone.
Not separate volumes for each.

Swiping down and opening settings is hard yes.

But you had to add that, whereas it's already on the Android, which did it first.
Or did you forget when you stopped being an Android/Windows fanboy?
Do you like throw everything and swear allegiance with any device? Are you that shallow and sheep like?

maybe , but im not looking to spend so much knowing that i will be buying a more flagship phone if my oneplus is unrepairable
I have a OP 7T Pro and I would say that its most likely the phone cannot be economically repaired.

Sadly I have realised that as much as I love my phone, Samsung is the way forward for better repair support etc.

am contemplating something like the samsung a25 for +/- R4k to use briefly before passing it to my daughter
the new A26 im guessing will be close to R6k
I got the A25 for R3800 on Samsung app. Not a bad phone. Facial.recognition crap though.
No charger either, another R400.

Why R400 for a charger? You can get them for like R150 on takealot

For a 25w charger you don't need the Sammie original :)
I know but 'd rather not chance those knock offs. I have staff who buy cheap chargers and cables every other month.

Buy once, cry once.

thanks
its served me well but i was more interested in retrieving anything i can from the phone before giving it up
still no feedback on companies that might be in a position to look/repair

had something similar on my Oneplus X ended up returning the phone to takealot and getting refunded,
might be due to rooting, might be due to overheating, might be loose soldering connections on a micro scale, might be bad parts,

might be many things.

yeah this is the problem, just replacing a battery can be hard to do
the fact it went black and i then after trying myself and putting it in freezer it showed signs of charging but didnt switch on i thought there was some hope

it did heat up a little few days ago
its a 6 yr old phone

The gamble when you import a device with no reasonable support in South Africa, when something goes wrong you're left with a dead device and one or two prayers to get it sorted. I had a OnePlus 3T, it was like my HTC One M7 from years ago. Solid phone, brilliant feature-set, but next to no support should something go wrong.

Google should build a brick-and-mortar store here. I'm upgrading to a Pixel once my 14 Pro kicks the bucket.

might be thats what killed it, you could try wrapping in in plastic and putting it in the freezer, to see if it will come back,
did that with my LG G4 that frequently overheated and became unusable, same with my innjoo fire, where the battery inflated like a marshmallow.

otherwise, this is what happens when you buy a phone with little aftermarket support in SA, Wileyfox swift V1, for instance

learned this lesson myself with all the weird and wonderful android phones out there. I owned some very good, but ARENT Samsung.

i think of just joining the masses of apple and samsung but both previous phones the HTC and Oneplus lasted long and were great
