Drivers License Card Renewal

- Debit or credit card. Note that Sandton accepts card payment only. It was R228 for the renewal and R70 to get a temp license. Akasia in PTA only wanted cash IIRC.

They said to collect in 6 weeks' time. Holding thumbs.

I went to renew mine this morning here in Heidelberg because it expires end of the week. Was expecting to spend the whole day. I walked in, completed the forms, did my eye test, paid R228 and left in 45 minutes. I was really surprised that it went so smooth. One thing less to worry about in the next 5 years. Oh and I also renewed my car license disk.

Thanks for the input, I have been checking the booking website for a few days as I need to renew by mid August but no luck so far :rolleyes: And I apparently have an enforcement notice/warrant of arrest against my name so I need to get that sorted out as well.
 
I went to Kempton Park on Friday, my appointment was for 14:00 walked out of there by 14:10

I just tried again before I leave the office and managed to get a spot at the Sandton DLTC this Thursday :X3: I need to get everything together before then.

And sorted, after having to pay for the enforcement order which was related to a traffic fine I never received. Sandton DLTC doesn't seem to stick to booking times, I arrived early and was ushered straight through, waiting to make payment was the longest part of the process.
 
I went and renewed my drivers license in Jan 2019.
I have not received notification that my new card is ready for collection and because I went and did it in Bronkhorspruit its not exactly easy to get to during the work day.
Has anyone renewed in Gauteng and received notification or even their new license?
How long did you have to wait?

No notification for me as yet (7 weeks ago). I don't think anybody receives notifications - apparently you just go back and collect it. I just need to find the time.

EDIT: Just phoned them again and managed to get through in 10 seconds (I gave up during earlier attempts). My license is ready for collection, so now I just need to get myself over there :)
 
Also did mine months ago in Edenvale and still waiting for sms.

Anyone have any idea if you can just pitch up and try collect?

If you did it in Jan, you'd better go collect it. If it lies there for too long, it is destroyed and you have to do the whole thing again.
 
I have an 1 fine on my name.. Will this affect the renewing of my license? Also am I able to pay it there is I have to?
 
Or just pay the fine and be done with it?
