Driving instructor offering me an "easy" pass.

Hi guys, I've been practicing driving for a few lessons, starting to get the hang of it.
I have 10 lessons left but today the driving instructor told me he can pass me easily if I pay him some money. He still has to give me the full details.

I have yet to tell him that I don't need to pass early, because I don't need a car now plus I can't afford one now.
Can you please give me advice on this, thanks.
 
Make a note of his name and call the Fraud Dept at your local municipality. Cape Town has a specific number for this
 
Report him to the cops. Could you live with yourself if some other person buys his license and kills other people in an accident?
 
Cops probably won't do anything since there is no evidence. You can either:

1. do nothing like most of us probably would, or
2. go to the local Herald/papers with the story (anonymous with no evidence) and potentially deal his business a serious blow, or
3. put a voice recorder in your pocket and nail the son-of-a-biatch! (I've seen this work in movies)


What you don't want to do is offend or threaten the man and not get your license because he told his buddies you're an ass.
 
My brother's driver instructor made the same offer. This makes me think it is common.

, I now know I can try spin my way out of this by saying that I'm tight on money(which I am) and it's not necessary for me to get the license soon as I can't afford the car. I can be friendly, worst case is he ditches me after a few lessons, rather forfeit the money I paid than get illegal ****.

Thanks, I'll do nothing in a friendly way.
I got to ask these "simple" questions bcos I don't have many ppl to turn to in my life 4 advice.

I passed the first time, with around 10/11 lessons in 2011. It wasn't that hard, just a bit nerve wracking with all the damn taxies. What licensing dept are you doing your test at?

Just a quick tip, if the tester sees you have made a mistake show a lot of emotion,not begging for him to pass you, but frustration because you made a mistake. Because If you made a mistake and you didn't acknowledge it he will fail you.

I made a mistake and the tester asked me why did I go through a red robot and I thought in my mind "Oh fk, i failed" but i showed him i was pissed off, went to the desk and jokingly said i failed, and I looked sad then he said "don't make that mistake again" and passed me. :)

Get an audio recording app for your phone and put it on record before you enter the car. When the conversation goes to paying for a license illegally ask how much and say you don't think so. Focus on getting your license the legal way. I would decide what to do with the audio recording after you have gotten the license. It's up to you.

Alternatively if you want to appear on TV you could tell the driving instructor you'll think about it and send the clip to Carte Blance and see if they want to nail the guy and his accomplice but then you will still sit without a license.

If these crooks learn that they can get easily recorded they might not make these illegal offers.

So he should have failed you.
