usually not designed for alarm power, only back up but there may be variations .

thats common as the alarm / gate etc cannot charge faster than X amount for lead acid .non of the systems are designed around lith yet .it will come

But is it really a problem if it never charges to full capacity? For me the lithium is so the battery is not unusable if it drains completely, while still offering backup power for enough time, most of the time.

if you keep a generic lith battery on a low voltage intentionally ,will it ever recover ,

True. So we picked it up when we had load-shedding stage 6 + an extended failure due to an eskom issue and the gate just died. The problem is in years past, the gate lasted longer on the gel battery lol.
 
It's been 8 months since I've connected the Lifepo4 battery, and not a single issue this far. More than I can say for the 18ah gel battery.
