since im typing these messages from my phone i will need to make a few post, i appologise for that. so i have a lvl 42 druid on a pvp server that i recently respecced from feral to balance. with feral i was pretty good but i decided to give balance a shot

My problem is that i suck with my moonkin form against a mob. After each fight i barely have any mana left and like 40% hp left. so what i do now is shift to dire bear form and kill the mob, only losing mana when i shift and when i heal after the fight.

but what i discovered with my balance spec and moonkin form is that im better at pvp with it than with feral. i managed to kill a palla 2 lvls higher than myself. what i ask is that should i continue with balance even though i rarely use it?

With balance i loose out on a lot of things that i use 90% of the time. should i go back to feral and hope that i dont run into any horde? a third option is that i wait till lvl 50 and then decide - im pretty new with balance and still need to master it

Bottom line = pvp - balance, pve - feral, that is how i experience it. what do you guys suggest? any hints and help will be appreciated. once again sorry for all the posts

I think you should either focus on PvP/Pve unless you want to be a jack of all trades...with balance comes weakness, but it's probably more fun. I would suggest you decide what area you like best (if you want to be dominate in one area) and focus on that, whether raiding pve or pvp

With a low level Moonie you are pretty much always gonna be oom after every fight, it only gets better later, but balance drood are sadly very mana in-effecient. On the hp side, it's all about spell rotation. OPen up with Starfire, entangled roots, 2 x wrath, entangled roots, rince and repeat, then you will pretty much never get hit by a mob. Problem with balance droods as well is, that you hardly can mange multiple mobs, so you always need to plan your pulls. I enjoy feral leveling, its neat its quick and you hardly ever have to stop to eat or drink. I always play with a +7 strength on bracers and +7 agil on gloves for that little extra output. When in trouble with a bad pull I switch to Dire and "bore" the mobs to death. PvP wise, tackle any skirmishes as extra fun and dont worry about it until you hit Northrend, you will have tons of fun there :).

I just started playing a Druid and Feral is brilliant. PvP or PvE. PvE I DPS as cat or Tank, if needed I shift and heal or shift from cat to Bear if there is a ninja pull or something. This just to help the tank and/or healer.

Cat in PvP = Pawnage. It's exactly the same as a rogue without the stunlock. I just prowl around and pick up the weaklings one by one. And just for fun I capture the flags in AB or run the Flag in WSG.

This druid I'm playing is amazing. Loving it to death :p

i think ill switch back to feral - i enjoyed it alot more. i just need to find a way to beat a caster or ranged attacker in pvp. how many feral druids tank on your servers? im still deciding if i want to tank, heal or dps in raids.

Carters easy feral charge cat and stun the hell out of them

What he said. Then sometimes theres no shame in travel form and running away. U can always heal up, prowl back and serve some injustice ureself.

For high-end pvp there is one spec that rules all others .... resto. Resto druids are near impossible to kill and they combine so well with warriors, rogues, locks, etc in 2v2.

+1

Was doing WSG over the weekend on my Lock. We where 3 guys beating down on a tree and he just never died  Took about 2 minutes before he ran out of mana and got raped to **** :D

only stun ability i have now is my cats pounce and that only stuns for 2 secs plus i must be prowling to use it, guess ill learn more later. as for resto, im consindering to spec to healer as soon as i hit lvl cap, either that or tanking.

Yeah resto droods are the shiz in pvp, only killable really quick, if you have a shammy purging the hell out of them.

I played a resto druid as my main for the first coupla wow years. He's no longer my main, and I've changed him to balance, lvl72 now. I'm now lvling him for his alchemy. I'm finding that he's pretty powerful atm, really enjoying lvling him. Multiple mobs are really no issue for him now(barkskin/starfall/hurricane pwns most). The absolute best talent for balance is typhoon, there is no greater pleasure than knocking a hordie off a cliff and /hugging him on the way down :)

Well... Ive had my druid Lyerpald now for...mmm..2 years and some change..
Of course he is my main (lvl 80) I have a 80 warlock aswell.
Lyerpald is the druid class leader in my very respectful raiding guild.
Unfortunately there is an imba lock CL so i cant get that position :P
I am so glad i chose a druid at the start, i have never looked back.
i was feral all the way till 70, when i specced resto. Then when wolk came, back to feral until 80, where, u guessed it, im now resto again.
First of all feral is the way to go for leveling, no two ways about it.
the wierd thing is that i have tried every spec, every talent build except for balance.
Never had the interest to try it. For the life of me i dont know why..
maybe i will soon.
Anyway.. I wanted to post a bit about druids in pvp.
As far as resto goes(my main spec) it owns every other healer in pvp. EXCEPT for 2v2..
feel free to argue with me but since wolk we have lost a lot of our power. Leather healers dont cut it anymore. pallys pwn in 2v2. but that is neither here nor there.
In AB or Sota or Wsg or whatever, resto druids own.
Feral druids in pvp are decent but have also lost a fair bit of their burst damage from nerfs :( but still competitive.
Balance druids suffer in pvp for mana consumption i feel(although i have no personal experience of that)
however we have a boomkin in our guild who is consistently 2nd in DPS whilst raiding.(second to our hunter guild master, who happens to be an exceptional player)
boomkins in raiding situations seem to be incredible.
And with my 1 sided opinion, resto druids are the best healers in game.
i love the way we heal, i love our heals, i love the look, i love everything about resto druids!!
Lyerpald out!

@Lyerpald - I disagree.

Druids are the best 2v2 healers and look at their rise in popularity/rating since the last patch. Combine with a warrior and you have a winning combination.

My prediction is that we will soon see druid/warrior exceed the popular priest/rogue combination assuming that Blizzard don't nerf warriors any more.

I find we are way to squishy for 2v2, the ony out we have in travelform>LOS running.
Barkskin doesnt help you when a DK death grips you, removes your hots and pummels you till you shed your bark.
Priests and pallys have bubbles.........shammys have other advantages/im not to familiar with them..
As far as a warrior for a partner, i found that DKs are our friends.. Warriors used to be better before 80, but now i dont know. Of course i only speak from personal experience, the warrior i joined with for a few weeks was my guilds main tank, and he isnt too great at pvp i dont think..
imo, i think rogue/rogue or mage/rogue are the way to go..
I also have a great rating with my Aff lock and a frost mage :) we kill lots of blood elves :) Fear and fluffy for the win!

Well i respecced to feral again and i have to correct myself - feral rocks in pvp and pve, for me that is. but when i hit lvl cap, i want to go resto since there are mostly a shortage of healers. can anyone tell me how and when do i do what in raids?
