Way too many cyclists on the N7 these days.
No sympathy when they get killed
The N4 has too many cyclists and pedestrians as well. Sometimes walking casually into the road like they're on a suburban street

I'm a cyclist and my dad was killed in a head on collision with a drunk driver. Guess which one I think is worse.................

Sorry to hear. Must have been devastating to get that call. Happens too often in SA.

Yup happened more than 20 years ago and I was still a kid but I still remember every little detail of that night.

Happens far too often all over the world. Without question the worst, most selfish and dangerous asswipes on the roads. Whether you hurt someone or not, you're basically turning your car into a mobile missile.

Durban businessman cleared after deaths of two cyclists

Durban motorist Omesh Ramnarain, who was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment for the deaths of two cyclists on the M4 in 2016, is a free man.

On Friday, KwaZulu-Natal appeal judges Kate Pillay and Muzikawukhelwana Ncube set aside his convictions on two counts of culpable homicide, saying his version - including the possibility that his vision had been impaired because a rock had been thrown at his windscreen - was reasonably possibly true.

"He was the only witness who could testify about the actual collision. There is nothing to suggest that his conduct deviated from what the reasonable driver would have done in the circumstances.

Absolute bullshit ruling, and purely down to the cops incompetence. He should have spent the full 10 years behind bars, little fscker.

Of course it's an absolute bullshit ruling and purely down to the cops incompetence.
That's because the cops on the scene only wanted to write one docket and ignored their duty to open another 38 cases charging the cyclists for being on the freeway.

Oh that aspect I also don't dispute.... All 38 of those cyclists should have been charged as well. BUT it does not in any way shape or form excuse the cops not doing their job on that 1 docket properly.

Useless police as usual, pathetic ruling.

Should've have stayed in jail. No doubt in my mind that the guy was drunk and probably speeding. Not excusing the cyclists for riding on a freeway though. Don't know what they were thinking
