That first charge by the elephant was a "gtfo you little twirp" action. Obviously you never know what the elephant would do later on but elephants are known to mock charge to chase threats away.

I'm glad disciplinary action was taken against him. He is lucky that Elephant didn't **** him up.
 
Anyone find it amusing how his friends kept laughing even after he fell down and the Elephant was getting closer to him.
Think he might want to re-consider his friends lol...

Also isn't chasing an elephant with a chopper the same thing essentially? Seriously doubt the Elephant sub-stained any kind of trauma...

Reading the rangers statement it seems he is more worried that the company may come under a negative viewpoint which will be very bad for his future.

Well he did disturb the natural habitat for this animal and he can be glad that the elephant did not make another judgement than retreating.

I have no sympathy for his actions, good luck finding another ranger position. He is probably avoiding picking up his phone due to all the animal welfare organisations wanting some blood or the company is taking the fire…

Give that man a Bells - Oh he's already had plenty.

A dumb thing to do and he is lucky to get away with what he did. Had that Elli been in musk they would have needed to find the camera, have the thing repaired if they could and then establish what happened because there would be no live witnesses.

I am sure the Game Raneger knew that it wasn't in musk though but when someone form overseas comes to visit the Park and tries this he will say, if alive, the elephant in this video is fake.
 
And can you imagine if the elephant killed him? I am sure everyone would say how dangerous elephants are.
I am sorry but when it comes to animals I take these things to heart
 
If anything, when confronted by elephant in the Bush ran at it like you're drunk!

This really doesn't phase me, he lived, elephant is fine, and he's fired. Done deal.

This guy, however stupid his actions were, has appologised most sincerely and done the manly thing of admitting his mistake. He has not tried to justify himself or did the usual blame shifting. That is something to commend.

If only he would learn from his mistake and stay away from alcohol.
