Any advice on how to treat dry scalp? I've tried different shampoos, oils etc but nothing helps.
All from the supermarket?

Each hair/sculp will be different. But the "anti-dandruff" stuff like Head and Shoulders can sometime make it worse.

I use this shampoo and the conditioner. Also use much less than the supermarket stuff, so last long

Check Faithful to Nature and sites like that.

You might have to try different ones until you find what works for you. But start by not using the so called anti dandruff stuff.

These are the ingredients for East India Islands:
Purified Water, Decyl and Lauryl Glucoside (From Coconuts), Soy Protein, Coco Betaine (From Coconuts), Vegetable Glycerine, Olive Oil, Oils of Cinnamon, Clove, Aniseed, Lemon, Cedar, Orange, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid

Who knows what is in Head and Shoulders:
Water, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, glycol distearate, zinc carbonate, sodium chloride, sodium xylenesulfonate, cocamidopropyl betaine, fragrance, dimethicone, sodium benzoate, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, magnesium carbonate hydroxide, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, blue 1, red 33.

I have cut them out but it's still dry. I do wash my hair everyday though. Could it be the 'hard' water here in PTA?
Washing it everyday you most probably also washout the essential natural oils.

If it’s hard water that’s the issue, give your hair a rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Thank me later and send me all the money you saved on overpriced, gimmicky shampoos.

What does vinegar do for your hair?

The op is definitely washing to often, if that guy in the video can go for 5yrs without washing the op can do a week.

I remember one unfortunate time at the end of a holiday and just before an 8hr drive home I decided to have a shower but the soap had already been packed away, the shampoo hadn't so I thought that would do just fine...

The trip was a nightmare, the shampoo dried my skin out completely and the skin on my whole body was tight and itchy the whole trip back. That opened my eyes to what shampoo does to your scalp.

Apple cider vinegar, specifically.

1. Contains malic acid to exfoliate scalp.
2. Dissolves possible mineral deposits sitting in follicle causing itch.
3. Tightens cuticle.
4. Restores natural pH disrupted by hair product.

Yeah, shampoo is bad. I still use it occasionally though.
