DSL for Gaming

so saix servers are local, and i saw theres alot of games beeing played on saix servers and you use "local bandwidth" thats cheap. how do you get local bandwidth?
local comes in 2 flavours: SAIX and IS. IS is cheaper, but is only valid till end of the month. SAIX local can *potentially* be carried over.

Head over to the axxess website to get some prepaid local @R12 per gig. Valid for 1 year+ not sure how long exactly.

Forget about overseas call of duty...its not going to fly. Just use the local servers. IS and SAIX both have servers.

well i did ask cybersmart if they use the fibre cable that runs under the sea rather than satelite and they do... so far cybersmart is the best choice... just waiting for that pings...

it took them(cybersmart) awhile to reply to my latency qeustion. local servers are around 50ms:) an and international 350ms to 600ms:eek:. Is there local age of connan servers? or is the international latency good enough to play? what about world of warcraft?

Yeah man,, from my own opinion, cybersmart is not a really good choice, i'v heard alot of problems with them all over the place.
I saw somebody here said something about axxess which i use aswell, its really easy and fast to get your gigs, last night i ran out of my local account, topped up my account and was back up in ten minutes with an EFT.
I have a do broadband level 1 which comes with 1 gig, for R199 and buy local gigs when i need them at 12 bucks.
Playing stratagy games with your international cap would not use more than 2 gigs a month, i would use about 1 gig and run out about 3 or 4 days from the end of the month. I also buy a pre-paid semi shaped 1 gig from axxess, which i keep one side incase of those times i run out. semi shaped is unshaped after hours between like 17:00 - 7:00 or something and the whole weekend which is pretty much when most people use it anyways. Put all those things in route sentry and your banging.

Goodluck

Thing is tho when you want to combine local with international bandwidth,Then you need a program called routesentry AND your router must be network free and not locked. Some ISP's like Telkom and Mweb offers free local cap after your monthly cap has been reached. I think Telkom gives you 10gig local and Mweb Unlimited.:D So many choices but I'd go with Openweb;)
