DSL speed problems in Fish Hoek

Are ther any other DSL users in Fish Hoek experiencing speed issues? When initially installed about 6years ago, my DSL line connected perfectly at 4Mbs down and 512Kbs up, and performance was good, however for about the past 6 to 8 months my DSL line wil not connect faster than 2Mbs down and 256k up.

Speed test.net gives stats of around 56ms ping times, 1.7Mbs download and 0.23Mbs up to Neotel server in Cape Town.

I have tried Telkom, Afrihost, Axxess and Mweb accounts, and Three different DSL modems -Dlink / Linksys and Billion - no difference.

For the past few days performance has been even worse, with Speedtest.net results of 65ms ping time, 0.3Mbs down and 0.02Mbs up to the same server

Anyone else in Fish Hoek area experiencing the same sort of thing?

Thanks for the update, I will have to try swopping modems again. The current modem is a DLink - ADSL modem, as it was the most consistent over the past 8 months or so, the other DLink (ADSL 2+), the Linksys and Billion were inconsistent.

I tried the other DLink modem - adsl2+ - no difference. Where did you hear about 10Mbs DSL on 785 no's - according to Telkom's DSL availability checker (which seems confused) - max DSL speed in Fish hoek is 1Mbs, and my current service is 4Mbs - Don't know how their maths works?
