DStv advertisements too loud? There is hope!

What about advertising during live sporting events, when the screen/picture size is reduced to allow for graphic advertisements? As a paying subscriber, I do expect the complete picture during a broadcast. The adverts are a huge annoyance and seems to happen more frequently of late. Do not mind the ads before, during breaks or after. I wonder if the National Consumer Commission would be interested in pursuing this?
 
It never bothered me when I still had DSTV - I generally jumped to another channel during ads. If someone can come up with a device that can mute the ads he/she will make a fortune.

Just press the mute button on your remote.
 
Quit mnet/dstv because of their annoying, repetitive, frigging ads! It was either that or wear out the buttons on my BB! Used to jumps to Mybb forums whenever ad came up!

Here's an idea...just make your movies etc louder...potato potahto
 
Self-defeating by the industry - I hit the mute button as soon as an ad irritates me, and that ruins it for all adverts that follow, as they are not listened too either.

One particular advertiser, elToro is actually now blacklisted for their irritating & grinding advert, and if I ever needed such services (which I doubt), I would never call them.

+1 .. I have the same response with radio advertising.

Music that is grinding and blaring in an advert is most likely just going to result in the advert being muted.
You would think that would be common sense, yet the advertising execs persist in it.
Same with adverts that are repeated way too often thereby negating their punch.
Most of the time it results in people dislinking the company associated with the advert.
 
I think the ads are louder so you can still hear them from the loo. :)

The first thing Multichoice can do is to normalise the channel levels. Massively annoying when you channel-surf and the volume jumps up and down by 12dB's. :mad:
 
Step 1: Swap DSTV sub for Uncapped Internet Sub
Step 2: Download your shows and movies
Step 3: Never deal with Ads again
Step 4: ???
Step 5: PROFIT
