From unlimited concurrent streamers per dstv account to 5 and then down to 2....yeah... They obviously monitor it. They think we dumb?

Password sharing for streaming services like Netflix and HBO are such a significant problem that the UK-based Synamedia has developed a new service to curb this practice.
Is it a big problem for Netflix? It wasn't that long ago that Reed Hastings claimed to "love it" when people did it and more recently Netflix anounced they had no intention of using Synamedia's service.

dont get it.. My dad has a premium account, but no interent connection. Where as i have an internet connection. So why waste the opportunity to use DSTV Now :D

My wife started using my dads account recently (Afrikaans channels) - I'm shocked at the interval of ads - definitely haven't missed DSTV since 2011.

Just watching ANY damn channel .. the amount of ads is freaking insane.

I haven't watched DSTV for some time and during the December holidays (at the resort), while having some time to waste, I watched a few channels. There were so many ads ... and whats even weirder was the fact that most ads were about either advertising DSTV or other shows/programs. I eventually got so irate from them repeating the same ads, I switched off the TV and didn't get to watch the end of the show.

How on earth do people put up with the same ads being repeated 50x during a show?

If only everything was on Catch Up, then I could watch Judge Judy all the time...

Judge Judy isn't, but I think that any 1st party dstv show will be on catch up. I haven't noticed any series on a 1st party channel which isn't on catch up.

Guy who uses his mom's DSTV premium subscription for DSTV now....checking in. :sneaky:

We don't - it's painful. I record shows now and watch later, at least to fast forward. The worst culprit is comedy central.

Lol, you guys complaining about ads - do you realise you can use DSTV to watch humans attain peak physical performance around conveniently timed ad breaks (i.e. sports).

In that case, if anybody wants to share their DSTV subscription with me, let's chat.

Do you have any further development on Netflix sharing?

They certainly haven't put an end to it - I share my account with my folks in the US and UK.
