I wish they would bring back the original Hallmark channel instead of this Universal crap.

More stuff coming. They have loads of extra capacity now, on IS20.
Hope so, bit underwhelmed with this update.

No (HD) upgrades to sport (besides SSHD4), documentary, news, music channels. The stuff that's actually unique to broadcasters in the Internet age.

I hope the smaller bouquets will also get something.

It looks like I will no longer have the choice to record the SD version of a channel when I am i.e. worried about running out of PVR disk space.

If I can help it, I record everything on HD. Especially for 5.1 sound.

I hope the same SD/HD channels are on the same polarisation unlike Mnet & MNet HD.

Also expect a nice bump in subscription price to go with it ;)

There is a vague mention that complexes with a central dish will have to make changes. Anyone know what that entails?

Please note if you live in a complex or flat where you don’t have your own dish, you would need to request your body corporate to upgrade your system before 1 October 2012. You can SMS your email address to us at 32444.

Complexes have settings per transponder, and there are new transponders coming into play, not sure whether all or just the new transponders would need to be re-configured

QT will know

Will just be repeats spread out, pity no Nat Geo or animal Planet in HD.
All the documentary channels ought to be in HD. But I'll take Nat Geo, Animal Planet & History as a start. Or BBC Knowledge or discovery world. Ok, all of them.

Hmmmm... same channel numbers? That potentially sucks hugely. I sometimes lose my HD channel (signal breakup) and have to resort to watching the SD channel. This happened quite a few times on channel 174 while the Proteas/England tests were on.
WTF would I do after this change?
