We are going to be getting DStv soon. What do you think of the channels that are on offer at the moment? We will hopefully have it by next week.

Its cheaper than getting MNET though Isnt it? As soon as we can afford to we will up grade to the full package

I went straight to full package as the compact just doesn't offer anything worth watching for me. and its only another R190 a month.

It doesn't include M-Net so it's ultimately crap imo

I know its over rated and over priced but it is certainly better than watching the same stuff on sabc all the time. Sabc is so boring.

As one poster said.. there is no MNET, and I think there is cartoon and Movies1 channel.. for starters, nothing wrong with it... but eventually u want more :-P

BBC Food and BBC Prime seems to be th e only two channels on DSTV....

/sigh How to get control back from the wife, over the scared remote

Compact users have had full dstv access the past 2 days...

I noticed :) , I am a compact subscriber. And its not the first tme its happened. A few occations now I have ended up watching full DSTV at R199pm.

DSTV compact is not great, like everybody else here has said. We have a three year old so we downgraded as we actually hardly watch TV, so DSTV was really not worth it either. The channels that we do end up watching are realityTV, Hallmark, and animal planet etc. But most of the time we actually end up watching SABC. That is when we watch TV which is about 3 times a week.

The channels that make up the bouquet include: SuperSport 3, Hallmark, ActionX, Reality, Channel 0, BBC News, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, SABC Africa, Rhema and TBN, with the free-to-air channels, SABC1, 2, 3, e.tv and the DStv radio channels.

according to some or other report i read

it might not be the best channels, but its better than not having it at all. although, much like everything else, the novelty can wear off

I would actually rather have MNET than DSTV compact. But they do not give you this option. In order to get only MNET you need an old MNET decoder, they do not allow you to receive MNET on its own via your DSTV decoder. That sux

Now why can they just not charge that price and a million more would sign up tomorrow.

We have a 11 month old baby and don't get much time to watch tv either....DSTV would not be worth it.
