DSTV Drifta

Received mine today. Bought it on the 24hoursonly special for R429. Very fast delivery, only problem I have is that it was handed to my neighbor by the courier company and not to me. Luckily the neighbor is a good and honest person.
 
Good to see my phone on the list, but its rooted. Is that still a problem?
 
Damn now I cant even use it !!!! Apparently some cables were stolen about 2 weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed/replaced. :mad: :mad:

From DSTV tech support:
"We don't know whether your jailbroken OS will affect the application adversely so we decided not to allow it"

bull**** I tell you. more likely they're scared someone will capture the stream.

LOL well to late, as I have a copy that runs on a rooted device and with Screencaster can capture. Only problem is you get a hell of a lot better quality on torrents if the need arise so why bother.

And no I am not sharing, there is a link on MyBB somewhere on how to get it.

Does the drifta software run on your Transformer Elimentals?
 
Anyone know if Windows Phone and/or Symbian devices going to be supported.

Yep T3 installs and works, No root needed.

Edit: Oh man it sucks... not worth it to buy a Drifta just to use on a tablet. Looks ok on DHD but really sucks on 10.1" display.

Because then the device has the potential to output video externally through some port/adapter (composite/component/HDMI etc). Same goes for Android, if MC (actually the original rights holders) aren't confident a particular model can be stopped from outputting video externally, they wont allow it.

would you say that it is totally unusable? was hoping I could plug it into a 32" tv via hdmi...

Not worth it. You would get better results using a laptop and drifta hack.

Do you guys know of a store where I can take my tablet to test to see how it would look on my tablet?

Here in PE, is a Shop at Greenachers next to Clicks. They where more than happy to let me test it before I bought one ;)

Actually find TV specialists that stock it, they normally more willing to help than L&L and Incredible disConnection.

Yeah, was hoping someone knows of a store like that in Pta. Is the app stable on your TF (no disconnects etc.)?

Only used it for about 3 minutes and during that time it was ok. The picture quality really really sucks so I would highly recommend you test it before you buy it for primary use on the device. Personally I would not use it at all to watch TV on the device, in fact I uninstalled it after the test.
